whichhasbeenessentialtomeandtoallthepeoplebredbythepast15years.inmyelementaryyears,therewasalittlegirlintheclasswhoworkedveryhard

butsomehowcouldneverdosatisfactorilyinherlessons.theteacheraskedmetohelpher,anditwasobviousthatsheexpectedalotfrom

me.butasayoungboy,restless,thoughtless,ialwaystriedtoevadehersoasto

getmoretimetoenjoymyself.onedaybeforethefinalexam,shecameuptomeandsaid,couldyoupleaseexplain

thistome?

iwantverymuchtodobetterthistime.istartedexplaining,and

finishedinahurry.pretendingnottonoticeherstillconfusedeyes,iranoff

quickly.natsurprisingly,sheagaindidverybadlyintheexam.andtwomonthslater,

atthebeginningofthenewsemester,wordcameofherdeathofbloodcancer.noone

everknewaboutthelittletaskifailedtofulfill,buticouldntforgivemyself.

isimplycouldntforgethereyes,whichseemtobeasking,whydidntyoudoalittle

moretohelpme,whenitwassoeasyforyou?

whydidntyouunderstandalittlebetter

thetrustplacedinyou,sothatiwouldnothavetoleavethisworldinsuchpain

andregret?

iwasabouteightornineyearsoldatthattime,butinawayitwasthevery

startingpointofmylife,foribegantounderstandthewordresponsibilityandto

learntoalwaysdomydutiesfaithfullyanddevotedly,fortheimplicationsofthat

sacredwordhasdawnedonme:

themutualneedandtrustofpeople,theco-operation

andinter-reliancewhicharetheveryfoundationofhumansociety.laterinmylife,icontinuedtoexperiencemanyfailures.butneveragaindid

ifeelthatregretwhichstruckmeatthedeathofthegirl,foritmakesmyheart

satisfiedtothinkthatihavealwaysdoneeverythinginmypowertofulfillmy

responsibilitiesasbestican.wordslikeindividualityandcreativityaregettingmoreemphasisandmorepeople

arerewardedfortheirhardworkandefforts.suchistheerainwhichthis

generation,growsandmatures.suchistheerainwhichthisgenerationwilltakeoverthenationfromourfathers

andlearntorunit.yetinthemeantime,manyproblemsstillexist.welearnthatcrimestakeplaceinbroaddaylightwithcrowdsofpeoplelooking

onandnotassisting.wehearthattherearestillabout1millionchildreninthis

countrywhocantevenaffordtogotoelementaryschoolswhileenormoussumsofmoney

arebeingsquanderedawayondinnerpartiesandluxurycars.webuyshoddymedicines,ormerelyworthlessjunkinthenameofmedicines,that

aggravate,ratherthanalleviateourdiseasessincemoney,manypeoplebelieve,is

themostimportantthingintheworldthatmustbemade,evenattheexpenseofmorality

andresponsibility.suchanera,furthermore,demands,thatweareagenerationwithaclear

perceptionofourhistoricalresponsibilityandanaggressivewilltotakeaction

andsolvetheproblems.historyhaslongbeenpreparingthesequalitiesinthis

generationanditisnowcallingusforwardtogivetestimonytoourpatriotismand

heroismtowardsthisnationandallhumanity.standingherenow,ithinkofthepast15yearsofmylifeasanordinarystudent.

probablyillbeanordinarymanfortherestofmylife.butthisdoesntdiscourage

meany,foriknowthatwithmysenseofresponsibilityanddevotedeffortstoalways

strive,forthebest,itsgoingtobeameaningfulandworthwhilelifethatiwill

beliving.icanteverforgetthatlittlegirlinmyclasswhocouldnthadthesame

opportunitiesasanyofusheretoenjoyawonderfullifetodayandahopefulworld

tomorrow.itisthesacredresponsibilityofthisgenerationtofaceuptothechallenges

ofthenewcenturyandtodevoteoursweatandblood,ourwisdomandpassion,tothe

那些过去吃米饭的人们也开始喜欢吃鱼和薯条。

的确如此，就拿中国来说，西方的生活方式已经广泛地影响了我们的现代生活，以致对

于年轻人对摇滚乐着迷，全家去吃麦当劳，老年人
