INTRODUCTION
ThemaintaskofLevel4OfANewEnglishCourseis,togetherwithLevel1,2and3,tohavestudentslayasolidfoundationinEnglish.Butitisquitedifferentfromtheprecedingtwolevelsinformatandinlanguagerequirements.Inbrief,it’stext-basedandemphasisissupposedtobelaidonreadingandwritingskills;however,adequateattentionisstillgiventolisteningandspeakingskills.Especiallyinreading,readingstrategiessuchaspredictingandanticipatingthecontentofthetext,skimmingforthemainideas,guessingthemeaningsofwordsandphrasesfromthecontextofthetextaretobepracticed.Inaddition,studentsshouldgraduallylearnhowtoappreciatedifferenttypesofwritinganddolotsofpracticeaccordingly.
