Mostofthedayisspentontheground;theyusuallywalkonallfourlimpsleaningontheknuckles(手指关节)oftheirhands,butoccasionallyupright.Gorillasliveinfamilygroups.Theyounggorillasclimbverywell,butoldonesstayalmostallthetimeontheground.Atnight,thegorillafamilysleepsonthegroundinnestsmadeofbranchesandleaves.Gorillasarehardtokeepincaptivity,fortheyarelikelytogethumandiseases,suchastuberculosis(结核病).Gorillas,generally,areacenterofattractioninmostofthebigcities.

II.FeaturesofGorillas

HairandSkin:

Gorillasarecoveredwithbrownishhaironmostoftheirbody(excepttheirfingers,palms,armpits,andbottomsoftheirfeet).

Head:

Gorillashaveaverylargeheadwithabulgingforehead,andeachhasauniquenoseprint(likewehaveuniquefingerprints).

Senses:

Gorillashavesensesverysimilartoours,includinghearing,sight(theyseemtobeslightlynearsightedandhavecolorvision),smell,taste,andtouch.

Habitat:

Gorillasareprimarilyterrestrial(陆栖的)(althoughtheylivedintreesbackintheirevolutionarypast).Gorillasliveintropicalrainforests(intheforestedgesandclearings),wetlowlandforests,swamps,andabandonedfields.
