Xi’an’seconomyhasexperiencedsteadygrowth.TheGDPwas[RMB145]billionin2006,up[14%]y-o-y.Theannualgrowthratewasadouble-digitgrowthinrealtermsinsixconsecutiveyears.

PerCapitaDisposableIncome

ThepercapitadisposableincomeofXi’anhasincreasednotablybetween2001and2006.Itreached[RMB10,898]in2006,representingay-o-ygrowthof[13.3%].

GDPComposition

Thetertiaryindustryshared[52.7%],thehighestportioninGDP,in2006,whileonly[4.9%]and[42.4%]ofGDPweresharedbyprimaryandsecondaryindustriesrespectively.IthighlightedthatXi’anbecameawell-urbanizedeconomy.

Inmonetaryterms,thetertiaryindustrycontributedRMB[76.4]billionofXi’an’sGDP,growingby[14.6%]y-o-y.ThesecondaryindustrycontributedRMB[61.53]billion,representinganincreaseof[14%]y-o-y.TheprimaryindustrycontributedRMB[7.07]billion,remainingrelativelystablewithanannualincreaseof[10.3%].

In2006,Xi’animportsandexportsachieved[USD4.154billion],upby[6.5%]y-o-y.Inaddition,thetotalexportwas[USD2.729]billion,growingby[3.6%]y-o-y,whilethetotalimportwas[USD1.425]billion,showinganincreaseof[12.6%]y-o-y.

ContractedForeigndirectinvestment（FDI）was[USD1.82billion]in2006,agrowthof[50.2%]overthepreviousyear.

UtilisedFDIamountedtoUSD825Millioninyear2006,representinganincreaseof44.4%y-o-y.

Xi’an’seconomicgrowthfrom2001onwardshasstimulatedtherealestatemarket.From2001to2006,Xi’an’sGDPhasmaintainedadouble-digitgrowthrate.Therewassignificantgrowthintherealestateinvestmentalongwiththerobusteconomy.Thetotalinvestmentinrealestatedevelopmenthasbeengrowingrapidlyduringtheperiod.In2006,itwas[RMB28.58billion],morethantripledthatof[2001].
