WhilestudyingmyASLevelsinComputing,Mathematics,FurtherMathematicsandPhysicsIhavefoundthattheyareallinterlinked.ThechoiceofmysubjectshasgivenmeanindepthunderstandingoftheprincipleideasofcomputingthatIwouldnothavebeenabletoachievestudyingtheminonecontext.TheareathatImostenjoyedinmycomputingcoursewasapieceofcourseworkwhichinvolvedhavingtocreateadatabasetoastringentspecification.IfoundthischallengingtocompletebecauseIwasgivenaproblemandhadtoconstructaworkingsolutionforitusingMicrosoftAccessandVisualBasicinApplications.ProgrammingisamajorfactorinmyinterestofComputerScience.Ifindprogrammingappealingbecauseofthechallengeinvolvedincreatingaresolutiontoaproblemusingdifferentmethods.

MystudyofMathematicsandFurtherMathematicshaveplayedapivotalroleinmystudiesgivingmealogicalthoughtprocessthatIcanapplytoothersubjectareas.IfoundtheMechanicsmodulethatItookinmyFurtherMathematicsmostintriguingasitcouldbeappliedtoreallifesituationssuchasprojectilemotion.ThiswasalsotrueforsomeothermodulesasIfoundtheappliedsidemorerewardingandenjoyableasopposedtothepuresideofMathematics.

WhileatmysecondaryschoolIchosetotakemystatisticsmoduleinyearninestayingbehindonceaweeksoIcouldimprovemymathematicalunderstandinginpreparationformyfurthereducation.IalsooptedtotakeavocationalartanddesigncoursewhichmeantIattendedaclassatBlackburnCollegefortwohoursaweekextra.InadditiontotheseIstudiedanASlevelincriticalthinkingduringyearten.Studyingfortheseextraqualificationshasreinforcedmydeterminationtoproceedontohighereducation.
