Thewritingonthefrontgivesthedateandgoesfromrighttoleft.Somepeoplewouldcallthis"mirror-writing".Leonardooftenwrotethiswayinhisnotebooks.Ontheback,thehandwritinggoesfromlefttoright,andtellsaboutanagreement,probablytoproduceaworkofart.

CeciliaFrosininiisanarthistorian.Shesaid,"Leonardowasbornleft-handed,butwastaughttowritewithhisrighthandfromaveryyoungage.Bylookingathiswritings,includingfromthisdrawing,onecanseehisright-handedcalligraphyiseducatedandwelldone."
