Reading:

Anne’sBestFriend

总体设计

Thisisthefirstreadingperiodforstudentsinseniorhighschool,sohowtogetintoagoodhabitofreadingisveryimportant.Andthepassageissuitabletoguidestudentstolearnthewaysofreading:

predicting,skimming,scanningandcarefulreading.

Warmingupisasurveyforstudentstopreviewtoknowiftheyaregoodtotheirfriends.Afterdoingthesurveybythemselves,theyshouldrecitethepassagewrittenaccordingtothecontentsofthesurvey.Ifso,theycanlearntousesomeofthenewwordsandexpressionsinthisunitandatthesametimetheywillknowiftheyareagoodfriend.

Pre-readinggivesstudentsarealisticideaofwhatagoodfriendisandwhatagoodfriendcandoforothers,whichisthebrainstormingforstudents.

ThereadingpassagetitledAnne’sBestFriendwithtwopicturesonPage3introducesstudents“who”Anne’sbestfriendwasandherlifeduringWorldWarII.Itsstructureisgoodforstudentstopracticethewaysofreading:

predictwhatthetextisaboutaccordingtothetitleandthetwopictures;readPara.1andthefirsttwosentencesofPara.2toskimthemainideaofthefirstpart;readthewholetextquicklyandscanthedetailedinformationofthetext;readthetextcarefullyandanswerthequestionstounderstandthetext,whichisintensivereading.

在把握主旨大意时,还可以引导学生发现文章的主题句,这是一种高效的阅读方法。
