Thereiscloserelationbetweenlanguageandculture.Languageisnotonlyonepartofculture,butalsoamirrorofit.Vocabularyisthemostactivefactorinlanguage,andthemeaningsofcolorwordsinthevocabularyareabundant.Variousnationalitieshaveformedtheiruniquecolorviewsinthelong-termhistory,reflectinggorgeousnationalcultures.Becauseofdifferentculturalissues,culturaltraditions,psychologicalandhistoricbackgrounds,theculturalconnotationsoftheEnglishandChinesecolorwordsdiffergreatly.ThisarticlefocusesondiscussingthesimilaritiesanddifferencesonthemeaningsbetweenEnglishandChinesecolorwords.

However,eventhoughChineseandEnglishnationshaveanearlysameunderstandingtonaturalcolors,theirdistinguishedculturalbackgroundscausethemtohavedifferentfeelingabouttheassociativemeaning,implication,andallusionofcolors.Therearesomanyfactors:
