TOassisttheEngineeringDepartmentinthecorrectschedulinganddelegationofworksothatprioritiescanbeestablishedandmet,itisnecessarythatWorkRequestTicketsbeused,andthefollowingprocedureapplies:
1.Toavoidduplication,workistoberequestedbytheDepartmentHeadorhisdesigneeonly.
2.Beexactregardingnatureofrequestandlocation–typeorprint.
3.Thewhitecopyistoberetainedbythepersonordepartmentinitiatingtherequest.
4.ThebluecopywillbereturnedfromtheEngineeringOfficetoindicatethatworkhasbeencompleted,andistobematchedwiththewhitecopy(anddisposedof,ifyoudesire).
5.Theunmatchedwhitecopiesrepresentworkstilltobecompleted.
6.Pleaseusetelephoneforrequestingworktobedoneinemergenciesonly,andfollowupwithaworkRequestTicketmarked‘Confirmation.’
7.RequestssubmittedbyDepartmentHeadsforworkotherthanmaintenance(egnewfurnitureinanoffice)mayneedtobecostestimatedandsubmittedtotheGeneralManagerforapproval.
8.DonotapproachmembersoftheEngineeringDepartmenttodoworkunlessitisofanemergencynature.
9.TheChiefEngineerorhisAssistantwillscheduletheworkaccordingtoitsimportanceandthebestinterestofourguests.
10.WorkRequestTicketsareavailablefromGeneralStores.
11.WorkRequestTicketsaretobeusedforallrequirementsfromtheEngineeringDepartment.
12.Anyportableequipmentthatrequiresmaintenancemustbedeliveredtothemaintenanceworkshopwithaworkticketattached.
ThisworkrequestsystemisconsideredamandatoryprocedureforallSheratonhotelsandtheefficlencyandsuccessdependsonyourcooperation.
NOTE
Frequentlyarequestforworkcannotbecompletedinareasonabletimebecause:
1.Morepressingorimportantassignmentstakepriority.
2.Orderedmaterialsorequipmentisyettobedelivered.
Thereforethesystemsometimesappearsnottofunction,eitherduetotheabovementionedpoints,orbecausethecorrectprocedurehasnotbeenfollowed.Donotduplicatetheoriginalrequest,asthiscanresultincostlywasteofmaterialandlabour.Iftherequesthasnotbeencompletedwithinareasonabletime.feelfreetocalltheEngineeringoffice,referringtotheoriginalrequestnumberanddate.
