我为何而生
Threepassions,simplebutoverwhelminglystrong,havegovernedmylife:
thelongingforlove,thesearchforknowledge,andunbearablepityforthesufferingofmankind.Thesepassions,likegreatwinds,haveblownmehitherandthither,inawaywardcourse,overadeepoceanofanguish,reachingtotheveryvergeofdespair.
我的一生被三种简单却又无比强烈的激情所控制:
对爱的渴望,对知识的探索和对人类苦难的难以抑制的怜悯。
这些激情像狂风,把我恣情吹向四方,掠过苦痛的大海,迫使我濒临绝望的边缘。

我寻求爱,首先因为它使我心为之着迷,这种难以名状的美妙迷醉使我愿意用所有的余生去换取哪怕几个小时这样的幸福。

爱和知识,用它们的力量把人引向天堂。
但是同情却总把人又拽回到尘世中来。
痛苦的呼喊声回荡在我的内心。
饥饿的孩子,受压迫的难民,贫穷和痛苦的世界,都是对人类所憧憬的美好生活的无情嘲弄。
我渴望能够减少邪恶,但是我无能为力,我也难逃其折磨。
Thishasbeenmylife.Ihavefounditworthliving,andwouldgladlyliveitagainifthechancewereofferedme.
这就是我的一生。
我已经找到它的价值。
而且如果有机会,我很愿意能再活它一次。
永远别放弃梦想
Thefirstdayofschoolourprofessorintroducedhimselfandchallengedustogettoknowsomeonewedidn'talreadyknow.Istooduptolookaroundwhenagentlehandtouchedmyshoulder.Iturnedaroundtofindawrinkled,littleoldladybeamingupatmewithasmilethatlitupherentirebeing.Shesaid,“Hihandsome.MynameisRose.I'meighty-sevenyearsold.CanIgiveyouahug?
”Ilaughedandenthusiasticallyresponded,“Ofcourseyoumay.”andshegavemeagiantsqueeze.
开学的第一天教授做了自我介绍,他还要求我们去结识某位我们还不认识的人。
就在我站起来四处张望时,一只手轻轻地搭在了我的肩上。
我转过身一看,一位满脸皱纹个子矮小的老太太正冲着我微笑。
这微笑使她浑身光彩照人。
她说:
“嘿,帅小伙儿,我叫罗斯,今年87岁。
我可以拥抱你吗?
”我笑了起来,热情地答道:
“当然可以啦。
”她紧紧地拥抱了我。
“Whyareyouincollegeatsuchayoung,innocentage?
”Iasked.Shejokinglyreplied,“I'mheretomeetarichhusband,getmarried,haveacoupleofchildren,andthenretireandtravel.”“No,seriously?
”Iasked.Iwascuriouswhatmayhavemotivatedhertobetakingonthischallengeatherage.
“你为什么在这么年轻而天真的年龄上大学?
”我问。
她开玩笑地回答说:
“我要在此遇到一个有钱的丈夫,结婚,生几个孩子,然后退休,去旅游。
”“真的吗?
不对吧?
”我问她。
我很想知道,她这么大年纪,是什么促使她接受这样的挑战呢。
“IalwaysdreamedofhavingacollegeeducationandnowI'mgettingone.”shetoldme.AfterclasswewalkedtothestudentunionbuildingandsharedachocolatemilkshakeWebecameinstantfriends.Everydayforthenextthreemonthswewouldleaveclasstogetherandtalknonstop.Iwasalwaysmesmerizedlisteningtothis“timemachine”asshesharedherwisdomandexperiencewithme.
“我一直梦想接受大学教育。
而现在我如愿以偿了。
”她告诉我说。
课后我们一同到学生活动楼,共饮了一杯巧克力泡沫牛奶。
我们一下子就成了朋友。
在此后的三个月中,我们每天都一起离开课堂,聊起来没完没了。
在她向我传授她的智慧和经验时,我总是着了迷似地倾听这个“时间机器”。
Overthecourseoftheyear,Rosebecameacampusiconandsheeasilymadefriendswherevershewent.Shelovedtodressupandshereveledintheattentionbestowedupherfromtheotherstudents.Shewaslivingitup.AttheendofthesemesterweinvitedRosetospeakatourfootballbanquet.I'llneverforgetwhatshetaughtus.Shewasintroducedandsteppeduptothepodium.Asshebegantodeliverherpreparedspeech,shedroppedherthreebyfivecardsonthefloor.Frustratedandalittleembarrassedsheleanedintothemicrophoneandsimplysaid,“I'msorryI'msojittery.IgaveupbeerforLent(一种威士忌的牌子)andthiswhiskyiskillingme.I'llnevergetmyspeechbackinordersoletmejusttellyouwhatIknow.”Aswelaughedsheclearedherthroatandbegan:
“Wedonotstopplayingbecauseweareold;wegrowoldbecausewestopplaying.Thereareonlyfoursecretstostayingyoung,beinghappy,andachievingsuccess.”
在这一年里,罗斯成了校园里的偶像。
不管到哪里,她很容易地就交上了朋友。
她喜欢精心打扮,陶醉于其他学生对她的注意。
她尽情地享受这一切。
到学期末,我们请罗斯在我们的足球宴会上讲话。
我永远也不会忘记她给我们的教诲。
介绍完毕后她就登上讲台。

”我们都笑了,她则清了清嗓子开始说:
“我们并不因为自己老了而不娱乐;我们因为停止了娱乐而变老。
要想保持年轻,过得幸福并取得成功只有4条秘诀。
”

她勇敢地唱了一首《玫瑰之歌》作为结束,还要求我们每个人学习歌词并在日常生活中将词意付诸行动。
Attheyear'sendRosefinishedthecollegedegreeshehadbegunallthoseyearsago.OneweekaftergraduationRosediedpeacefullyinhersleep.
年末,罗斯结束了她多年前就开始的大学生涯,取得了学位。
毕业一周之后,罗斯在睡梦中平静地去世。

要坦诚,要做你认为对的事,当有需要时便应奋力而为,并坚持到底;你越是这样,越会觉得游刃有余。
锻炼你内心的力量,你必将更强更能干,力所至,功毕成!
既然付出就不要期待回报
Amanisknownbythecompanyhekeepstheysay.Ifitisso,theneveryoneisboundtohavetheirbaggageoflonelinesswiththemascompanions.lonelinessisnotsomethingthatdoesn'texistatallwithanyhumanbeingonearth.Everyhumanbeingfeelslonelyinhislifeatsomepointorother.It'sbutnaturaltohavesuchfeeling,becausethat'swhatmakesusallhumanandthatiswhyweareaswearenow.
他们说人总是为他身边的人所知的。
如果是这样的话,每个人都注定与孤独为伍。
孤独感是每个人都会有的,都会在某个时候,感到孤独,这是非常自然的。
因为孤独感令我们成人,并令我们成为现在的我们。

我们自己应该对我们自己所定义的忧郁付责任。
因为有的时候,我们真的觉得我们被忽视或者不被理解。
Sometimesweoveranalyzereallifesituationsandhavethisgrowingsenseofselfpityinsideus.Thisfeelingalwaysgivesusthoughtswhichpicturiseusalwaysreceivingthewrongendofthestickinlife.Thetruthmightnotalwaysbetrueifwetouchourheartandsee.Itsjustthatourexpectationsinlifeandfrompeoplearoundusorcircumstancesthatwearefacing,havegotthebetterofus.Expectationisthesilentkillerwhichmurdersmillionsofmushyandtimetestedrelationships.Iftherewouldhavebeennoexpectationsfromanyone,theworldwouldhavebeenamuchbetterplacetobe.Iftherewouldhavebeennoexpectations,notmanypeoplewouldhavehadanachingheartandalifelonggrouseagainsttherewouldhavebeenbetterhaves.Ifitwouldn'thavebeenforunreasonableexpectationsnotmanycoupleswouldhavedivorcedeachother.
有的时候我们过度的分析了真实的情况,这令我们自己产生了自己怜悯自己的感觉。
这种感觉经常会给我们错觉,如果我们扪心自问,真相并不总是真的,它们只是我们对身边人和环境过高的期待。
期待是一个沉默的杀手,谋杀了无数经过时间考验的人也人之间的关系。
如果没有了对任何人的期待,那么这个世界将会并得更好。
如果没有期待,就不会有那么多人感到心疼,
