consistentcontinuationofalong-standingclosecooperationoftworesearchand

educationinstitutionsrichintradition.TheUniversityofKarlsruhewas

foundedin1825asaPolytechnicalSchoolandhasdevelopedtoamodernlocation

ofresearchandeducationinnaturalsciences,engineering,economics,social

sciences,andthehumanities,whichisorganizedinelevendepartments.The

KarlsruheResearchCenterwasfoundedin1956astheNuclearReactor

ConstructionandOperationCompanyandhasturnedintoamultidisciplinary

large-scaleresearchcenteroftheHelmholtzAssociation,whichconducts

researchunderelevenscientificandengineeringprograms.In2014/15,theKIT

concentratedonanoverarchingstrategyprocesstofurtherdevelopitscorporate

strategy.Thismissionstatementastheresultofaparticipativeprocesswas

thefirstelementtobeincorporatedinthestrategyprocess.

卡尔斯鲁厄大学理工学院的前身原卡尔斯鲁厄大学，成立于1825年。
