状语从句

状语从句，指的是在复合句中作状语的从句，修饰主句中的动词、形容词或副词等。

状语从句放在主句之前时，常用逗号分开；若放在主句之后，一般不用逗号。

按其意义和作用划分，可以分为以下几种：

◆时间状语从句

一般来说，时间状语从句常由连词when,before,after,assoonas或until引导。

在使用时，从句一般不用一般将来时态。

若主句为一般将来时态或是含有将来的意味时，时间状语从句常用一般现在时态来代替将来，即“主将从现”。

例如：

Iwilltellhimthenewsassoonashecomesback.他一回来，我就告诉他这个消息。

WhenIgrowup,Iwilljointhearmy.当我毕业了，我就要去参军。

◆条件状语从句

条件状语从句常由if（如果）或aslongas（只要）来引导，同样适用于“主将从现”。

例如：

Wewillstayathomeifitrainstomorrow.如果明天下雨了，我们就会呆在家。

AslongasIlive,Ishallworkhard.只要我活着，我就要努力工作。

◆原因状语从句

原因状语从句常由because（因为），since（既然；由于）或as（由于）来引导。

在使用时，注意because和so（所以）不能用在同一个句子中。

例如：

Sinceyoucan’thelpme,I’llfindsomeoneelse.既然你帮不了我，那我就找其他人吧。

Iwaslateforschoolthismorningbecausethetrafficwasbusy.

=Thetrafficwasbusy,soIwaslateforschoolthismorning.

因为早晨交通堵塞，所以我迟到了。

◆目的状语从句

目的状语从句由sothat（为了，以便）或inorderthat（为了）来引导，使用时，常放在主句之后，且从句中常用can,could,may,might等情态动词。

例如：

Theteacherspokeinaloudvoicesothat/inorderthatwecouldhearhimclearly.

老师用很大的声音以便于我们能听清他讲课。

◆结果状语从句

结果状语从句常由so...that...（如此......以至于）来引导，在使用时要注意so的后边接的是形容词或副词的原级。

例如：

Hispantsaresodirtythathemustwashthem.他的衣服如此脏以至于他必须去洗一洗了。

◆让步状语从句

让步状语从句由although或though（虽然；尽管）来引导。

注意，在使用时，though或although不能和but不能用在同一个句子中，两者只能用其一。

例如：

Westillwenttoschoolalthough/thoughitwasraininghard.

=Itwasraininghard,butwestillwenttoschool.

尽管天下着大雨，但是我们仍然去上学了。

◆比较状语从句

比较状语从句由than（比），as...as...（和......一样）或notas/so...as...（和......不一样）来引导。

than用在比较级中，而as...as...中间用形容词或副词的原级。

例如：

Mydictionaryismuchthickerthanyours.我的词比你的厚的多。

Yoursweaterisn’tas/sonewasmine.你的毛衣没有我的新。

if引导的条件状语从句

用法

例句

①主句为一般将来时态，if从句用一般

现在时态（即主将从现）。

Wewillstayathomeifitrainstomorrow.

如果明天下雨，我将要呆在家。

②主句中含有情态动词，if从句用一般现在时态。

Ifyoufinishyourhomework,youcangohomenow.如果你做完了作业，你现在可以回家了。

③主句为祈使句，if从句用一般现在时态。

Don’tjumpintotheriverifyoufeelveryhot. 如果你感到很热，不要跳入河里。

④主句为过去将来时，if从句用一般过去时态（如果涉及到be动词，一律都用were）。

此时，表达的是和现实相反的推测，用虚拟语气。

如果我是你，我就不会那么做的。

状语从句的析与练 

   用来修饰主句中的动词，形容词或副词等而充当状语的从句叫做状语从句。

状语从句常用从属连词来引导，与主句连接起来。

若置于句末，则前面不加逗号。

根据意义和作用，状语从句可分为时间原因条件等几种。

下面我们就来分析一下这几种状语从句。

1时间状语从句

   时间状语从句常用从属连词when,after,until,assoonas,等来引导。

当主句是祈使句或谓语动词是一般将来时态或情态动词时，其时间状语从句中的谓语动词常用一般现在时态表示将来发生的动作或存在的状态。

这就是我们常说的“主将从现”。

如：

Pleasecallmewhenyougetthere. 当你到那时，请给我打个电话。

    IwillwritetoyouassoonasIarriveinBeijing. 我一到北京就给你写信。

<温馨提示>since引导时间状语从句表示“自从…以来”，从句中的动词一般表示动作的起点，用过去时；而主句的动作延续的情况则用一般现在时或现在完成时。

常用的句型为：

   Ithasbeen/is+一段时间+since+过去时。

如：

Ihasbeen/isthreeyearssincewemetlasttime. 自从我们上次见面，已经三年了。

2条件状语从句

引导条件状语从句的连词或词组有：

if（如果）,unless（除非）,aslongas（只要）等。

如果主句是将来时，条件状语从句也用一般现在时来表示。

如：

Iwillstayathomeifitrainstomorrow.  如果明天下雨，我就待在家。

    Youcan’tlearnEnglishwellunlessyouworkhard. 

除非你努力学习，否则是学不好英语的。

<温馨提示>由if引导的条件状语从句，若从句表达的是与现在事实相反的事实，则常用虚拟语气，即用过去时态表示（如果涉及到be动词，一律都用were）。

此时，主句则用过去将来时。

如：

IfIhadenoughmoney,Iwouldbuyitforyou. 如果我又足够的钱，我将把它买给你。

    Iwouldn’tdoitifIwereyou.  如果我是你，我是不会做的。

3原因状语从句

because,since,as,for都可用来引导原因状语从句，那么它们又有哪些区别呢？

①because用来表示“造成某种结果的直接原因”，语气较浓，常用来回答why提出的问句。

如：

  ---Whyareyoulate?

  ---Becausemybikeisbroken.

②as和since用来表示“看的到的或是不说也知道的原因”，since也可译作：

“既然”。

如：

Asheisoldenough,lethimdoit.   他既然长大了，就让他干吧！

   Sincehisshoesarewornout,let’sbuyhimanewpair.

   既然他的鞋坏了，那我们就给他买双新的吧。

③for引导的原因状语从句不置于句首，常用来表示“顺便提及的理由”，只是稍带说明原因，并非强调。

如：

Imuststayhere,forit’srainingsohard.  我必须得待在这儿，因为雨下的很大。

   当然，除了以上提到的几种状语从句之外，我们还学过由than引导的比较状语从句，由so…that引导的结果状语从句等。
