I.AnalysisoftheTeachingMaterial

 

Thisunitisaimingattalkingaboutwhatthepeopleusedtobelikewiththepatternofusedtobe,usedtohave,usedtolike.Alltheactivitiesarecarriedoutaroundthetopicofhowtodescribethepeople'sappearanceandpersonality.Thefirstteachingperiodservesasanintroductionandlead-inpart.Duringthispartthegoalwasintroducedandthemaintopicofthisunitalsowaspresented.Justlikeawarmingupitplays,itisacceptabletoreviewwhathasbeenlearnedinthelastunitandtotransfertothenewlanguage.Thematerialsintalkingaremostlyfromtherecentreallifeandarefamiliartothestudents.Aseriesofquestionswithpicturesandabigpictureareusedtoattractstudentstotheknowledge.

 

Ⅱ.AnalysisoftheStudents

 

AsJunior3students,theywouldliketotalkaboutthechangesbetweenapersoninthepastandnow.Theyhavelearnedsomewordsabouthowtodescribethepeople'sappearanceandpersonalitylikeshort,tall,longhair,shorthair,kind,friendly,serious,shyandsoon.Soitiseasyforthestudentstolistenabout,talkaboutorwriteaboutwhatthepeopleusedtobelike.Suchtopicwillremindstudentsofthedaysoftheirchildhood.Soitisalsohelpfultoraiselearninginterestofstudentsandstudentswillbeactiveinalltheactivitiesinthisunit.

Thefirstperiodintroducesalotofwordsdescribingpeoplefirst.Andthenstudentswillbeprovidedlisteningandoralpracticeusingthetargetlanguage.Sointhislesson,studentswilllearnhowtodescribethepeople'sappearanceandpersonality.Theywillshareopinionsaboutthechangesbetweenapersoninthepastandnowbycomparing,listeningandtalking.
