InSeptember,ourVermipostingprojectbeganwiththesupportfromanonlineworkshop.Vermipostingistheprocessbywhichwormsturnfoodwasteandothermaterialsintofertilizer.Theworkshoptiedtogetherclubmembersandworkshopstudents,educatingandinspiringsometostarttheirownwormbinsathome.

InOctober,weheldourfirstSpartansPickUpDay,co-hostedwithSpartansSierraClub.Fourteenteamsofstudentssafelypickeduptrashandpostedpicturesonline.Thecooperationbroughtsomeenvironmentalstudentorganizationstogetherandattractedmorestudentparticipation.

OurmostnotableacplishmentwasworkingwiththeOfficeofSustainabilitytobuildapollinator(授粉者)gardenoncampus.Thegardenwouldimprovethecampus'climatebyattractingpollinators,increasingbiodiversityandreducingsoilloss.Wepostedsomevideosofthegarden,andstudentswereexpectingtoreturntocampustovisitit.

StudentorganizationsprovideanimportantaspectofcollegelifeandI'mproudtosaywe'vecarriedthatintothedigitalspace.Personally,I'vediscoveredmyclubisanincredibleoutletformetodiveintomysustainabilitypassionandtakeastepbackfromthegreatstressofjobsearchandonlinelearning.Iencourageallstudentstojoinastudentorganizationtofindhowyoucantranslateyourpassionintomeaningfulprojects.
