ChinaSocialSituationAnalysisandPrediction,surveyed4,110studentsbornafter1990in12universitiesacrossthecountry.Oftheinterviewed,2,730ofthemarecurrentlystillstudentsatschooland1,380aregraduates.

Thesurveyrevealsthatinayearaftergraduation,morethan70percentofgraduatesrenthousesorliveindormitoriesprovidedbytheiremployers.About20percentliveathomeoftheirparentsorrelativesandlessthan5percentliveinthehousesoftheirown.

“Thereportshowsmostpost90sgraduateshavetopurchaseahouseontheirown,”saidTianFeng,deputydirectoroftheresearchlabforteenagersandsocialproblemsaffiliated(隶属的)toCASS.Itisstillarigid(一成不变的)demandforthepost90stohavetheirownhouses.Onlyonethirdofrespondentsagreetolowertheircurrentlivingconditionstosavemoneytopurchaseahouse,andabout55percentchoosenottobuyahouseiftheinvestmentmeansaheavydebtburden.
