Ashleighwouldgetemotionalifanychickendied.Shedecidedtodedicatehertimetoimprovingtheconditionstheywerelivingin.Shegavethemwaterandfoodregularly.Shealsoaskedherparentstohavethesickchickenstreated.Bythetimeshestartedpayingattentiontothechickens,therewereonlyeightofthem.Butcurrently,thefamilyhavealmost100chicksandchickens.

Scientistshavedesigned“transparent(透明的)wood”thatcouldreplaceconventionalglassinwindows.

Theinnovationwasdevelopedusingwoodfromthebalsatree,whichisnativetoSouthandCentralAmerica,andclaimstobefivetimesmorethermallyefficientthanglass.
