Thishomemade.410shotgunwassenttomebyananonymoussource.Judgingbythephotoitlookswellmade.Isuspectthebarrelandbreecharebuiltfromironplumbingpipe!

AFullBorePCPAirRifle

Madeinthe1940sduringWWII,thisgundoesn'tlooklikeaGirandoni,butexaminationshowsthatitclearlywasbuiltbysomeonefamiliarwiththeGirandonirepeatingairgunsystem.ThestoryisthatthisgunwasbuiltinAustriabyapartisanbicyclemakerduringtheNazioccupationinWWII.

Therepeatingmagazineisspringfedandontheleftsideofthebarrel,fortheconvenientuseofarighthandedshooter.Thegunwaschargedwiththeaccompanyingbicycletypepump.Smoothbore,aswouldbeexpected,butfiringan11.76mmleadball（.463"caliber）theverysamecaliberastheoriginalGirandoniAustrianmilitaryrepeatingairrifles!

Thiswouldhavebeenafearsomeweaponagainstsentries,drivers,militaryleaders,etc.atrangesuptoperhaps100yards.

TheCharltonAutomaticRiflewasafullyautomaticconversionoftheLee-Enfieldrifle,designedbyNewZealanderPhilipCharltonin1941toactasasubstitutefortheBrenandLewisgunlightmachinegunswhichwereinchronicallyshortsupplyatthetime.

Approximately1,500CharltonAutomaticRiflesweremanufacturedinNewZealand,[4]andnearlyallofthemweredestroyedinafireatthePalmerstonNorthservicestoragefacilityshortlyafterWorldWarII.[5]

AnexampleoftheNewZealand-manufacturedCharltonAutomaticRifleisknowntosurviveintheImperialWarMuseuminLondon,butonlythreeexamplesoftheElectrolux-madeCharltonAutomaticRiflesareknowntoexist–oneintheWaiouruArmyMuseuminNewZealand,anotherattheSingletonInfantryCentreinAustralia,andthethirdattheImperialWarMuseuminLondon.
