PlotSummary

ThisfilmisthestoryofBuddy,ahumanbeingwhowasraisedasanelfbythewonderfulandlovingelvesoftheNorthPole（Elvesaretinymythicalcharactersthatareabouthalfthesizeofhumans,weartight-fittinggreenclothes,andspendmostoftheirtimeeatingcandyandbuildingtoysforSantaClaustogiveawaytotheworld’schildreneveryChristmasEve）.OnedayBuddyfindsoutthatheisnotactuallyanelfbutahumanbeing,andthushedecidestotraveltoNewYorkCitytomeethisbiologicalfather.

Buddy’shumandad,Walter,isaverystressedoutbusinessmanwhorunsasmallpublishingcompanythatspecializesinchildren’sbooks.Naturally,whenBuddyarrivesatWalter’soffice,dressedinhiself’sclothing,Walterbecomesevermorestressedout,especiallywhenBuddykeepsoninsistingthatheisthebiologicalsonthatheneverknewhehad.Atfirst,WalterrefusestotakeBuddyseriously,butaftera（DNA）bloodtestprovesthatBuddyisindeedhisfirstbiologicalson,WalteragreestotakeBuddyhomewithhim.

BuddydrivesWaltercrazy,butEmilyandMichaelsoonlearntoappreciateBuddy’skindheartandinnocence,andhesoonlearnstogetalonginNewYorkCity,evenfindingajobatalocaldepartmentstore.Unfortunately,BuddycontinuestoaccidentallycauseWalteroneproblemafteranother,buthealsobringshappinesstoalotofpeople,includinghisfirstrealgirlfriend,Jovie.Eventually,Buddyisabletoteachhisentirefamily,evenincludingWalter,thetruemeaningofChristmasspirit….
