Max,whoisfromBristol,launcheda£60,000crowdfundingcampaign(众筹活动)onKickstarterearlierthisweektofurtherhisprojectandturntheprototypeintoapublicreality.“Themaintaskofthisprojectisnottomakemoney,buttogetitontothewristsofthoseitcanhelpkeepsafe.Anyprofitsmadefromearlysalesthroughthecrowdfundingsitewillbereinves-tedintoprovidingfreedevicesfororganizationsthathelppeoplesuchasNationalHealthServ-ice(NHS)staffandnursinghomes.

“Thestudyfoundthatpeoplewhopostedalotofselfieswerealmostcommonlyviewedaslesspleasant,lesssuccessfulandmoreinsecurethanthosewhopostedmore‘posies’—thatis,traditionallyposedphotosthatappeartobetakenbysomeoneelse,”Barrysaid.

Thosewithoutafriendavailabletotakeapicturecantryusingaself-timertotaketheirownposedphotosfromfartherawaythanatarm’slength.TheWSUresearchersfoundthate-venifaphotothatappearstobea“posie”was,infact,takenbythesubject,itwasstillconsid-eredmorepositivelythanobviousselfies.
