PeopleoftenthinkoftheNorthPole(北极)andtheSouthPoleassimilarfrozen(冰冻的)

Althoughconditionswereverypoor,peopletriedformanycenturiestoreachtheNorthPole.About100yearsago,twomen,RobertPearyandMathewHenson,wereabletogettothisenvironmentfulloftroublesanddifficulties.TheyreachedtheNorthPoleonMarch8th,1909.Itwasreallyahardtripforthem.
TherearefewthingsmoredangerousthancrossingtheArctic(北极圈)onfoot.Peoplewhostayedtheremayfacemanyproblems:
verycoldtemperatures,suddenstorms,andevenhunger.Mostoftheareaisuninhabited.Fewpeoplecanliveinsuchadifficultplace.
