PeopleoftenthinkoftheNorthPole（北极）andtheSouthPoleassimilarfrozen（冰冻的）

Althoughconditionswereverypoor,peopletriedformanycenturiestoreachtheNorthPole.About100yearsago,twomen,RobertPearyandMathewHenson,wereabletogettothisenvironmentfulloftroublesanddifficulties.TheyreachedtheNorthPoleonMarch8th,1909.Itwasreallyahardtripforthem.

TherearefewthingsmoredangerousthancrossingtheArctic（北极圈）onfoot.Peoplewhostayedtheremayfacemanyproblems:

verycoldtemperatures,suddenstorms,andevenhunger.Mostoftheareaisuninhabited.Fewpeoplecanliveinsuchadifficultplace.
