  Thisnovelmainlydescribeafamousandintelligentphysicianwhoturnsintoaevilmanaftertakingadrug,intendedtoseparateevilfromgoodinapersonality.Dr.Jekyllisthemaincharacterofthisnovel.heisknownasanacknowledgeableandrespectablemaninLondon.LotsofpeoplethoughtthatDr.Jekyllisnearlyaperfectmanforwhathedosegooddeedsandcuresthepainofhispatient.Heownedthegoodfameforwhatgooddeedshehasdone.Butinhisinnerhearthealwaysfeelstiredofwhatrolehehasactedas.Hewantstochangehimself,sohedoessomethingeviltosetfreehimself.hedreamstodoevilthingstomakehimselffeelcomfortable.

  TobeanothermanisthecrazydreamforJekyll.sohemixessomedrugsandpowdertogethertomakenewdrugs.Aftertakingthisnewmedicinehebecomesanugly,smallanddeformedmannamedMr.Hyde.Beinganevilman,hecandoessomeevilthings,whereasHydewasstillyoungandenergetic.sohebeginshislifeofevil.Duringthistime,Hydewaslookedonasablackmailerevenamurder.hecouldnotgetridofthepolicewhoaresearingforhim

  Thereisadevillivesinourhearts.Sometimesourhappinessstemsfromothers'misfortune.Thismakesusfeelshamed.EverynowandthenIwonderwhetherthereisamethodthatcanremovethedevilfromourhearts.Inthisway,theevilpartofmewon'tfeelshamed,meanwhile,thegoodpartofmewon'tgethappinessfromothers'misfortune.Afterreadingthisnovellaentitled"Dr.JekyllandMr.Hyde",Ithinkit'sbettertoshutdownthisbadidea.

  ThisnovellaiswrittenbythefamousScottishauthor,RobertLouisStevenson.ItisaboutaLondonlawyernamedJohnGabrielUttersonwhoinvestigatesstrangeoccurrencesbetweenhisoldfriend,Dr.HeyJekyllandtheevilEdwardHyde.

  Dr.HeyJekyllwasascientistwhowasalwaysconsideredasaserious,hard-workingdoctor.Behindthischaracter,however,hewasanactive,fun-lovingyoungman-about-town.Hehadspentmostofhislifetryingtoremovethedevilfromhisheartwhichwasnotfittingforamanofhisstature.Aftermuchthought,hefinallydecidedtocreateadrugthatcouldgiveeachsideofhischaracterit'sownseparatefaceandbody.Then,hebravelydrankthedrugandsuccessfullytransformedhimselfintothesmaller,younger,cruel,remorseless,evilEdwardHyde.Dr.Jekyllenjoyedhissecretverymuch--butnotforeverafter.Astimewentby,Mr.Hydegrewinpower.Aftertakingthedrugrepetitively,Dr.Jekyllnolongerneededtousethedrugtoreliefhisdevil.Eventually,Mr.HydegrewsostrongthatDr.Jekyllhadtorelyonthedrugtoremainhimself.Hefirstinjuredachildinstreet,thenbeatSirDanverstodeathfornoreason.RealizinghewouldsoonbecomeHydeforever,Dr.Jekyllleftbehindaconfessionandcommitsuicide.

  Generallyspeaking,everymanhastwosidestohischaracter.JustlikeDr.Jekyllwasaserious,hard-workingdoctorwhichconcealedairresponsiblemanwhopleasuredaroundunderneath.Dr.Jekyllhadnoticeditquietwell,butheshouldhaveknownthatanormalpeoplecouldnotbetwopeopleliveuncomfortablytogetherinthesamebody.Itsoundsmorelike"dualpersonalities".Feelingcomplacentabouthiscreation,Dr.Jekylldidn'tnoticethathewastrapped.Beforetheexperiment,Dr.Jekyllwasjustadouble-dealer.Andafterit,hebecameapersonwithdualpersonalities.Eachpersonalitywantedtocontrolthebody.Unfortunately,gooddidn'tprevailoverevil.Dr.JekyllgrewweakwhileMr.Hydegrewpowerful.

  Actually,thetwosidesofapersonhavewelldefinedpowerandresponsibility,mutualcoordinationandrestraint.Theyknowtheappropriatetimeandsituationtobehavethemselves.YoucanbeseriousatworkwithacharacterlikesDr.Jekyllandhaveyourprivatelifeascrazyasyouwant.Thisisnothingtobeashamedof,butDr.Jekylldidn'trealizeitatthattime.Duringtheone-monthinternship,Ihavenoticedthatthereareagreatnumbersofteacherswearadoubleface.Theytreatstudentsstrictly,meanwhile,theyarequitefriendlywiththeircolloguesandparentsofstudents.Thismakestheirlifemucheasier.Everyoneplaysdifferentrolesindifferentsituations.Weneedn'ttoshameaboutit.Thedouble-dealerscanalwaysgainadvantagefrombothsidesandlivewell.

  WhenDr.Jekylltookthedruganddevidedintotwoperson,thistragedyiswaitingtohappen.Thetwopersonarequitesimply.Dr.JekyllsharednoefforttodogoodandMr.Hydecommittedallmannerofevil.ThroughthedeathofDr.Jekyll/Mr.Hyde,theauthortriedtoexpoundhispoint:

Ifyoucan'treininyourdevil,youwouldbepunishedatlast.

  Intheunknowncornerofpeople'sdeepestheart,goodcoexistswithevil.Inthestoryofdeersandwolves,peoplesimplythoughtthatdeerscouldlivebetterwithoutwolves.Asamatteroffact,deerscouldnotlivewithoutwolves.Theymaintainedanappropriatebalanceintheforest.Butforthechasingofwolves,deerscouldn'tbestrongandhealthy.Similarly,whenseparated,thegoodsideofDr.Jekyllbecameweakerandweaker.Instead,theevilsideofhimbecamestrongerandstrongerwithouttherestraintofthegoodside.Buttheevilside,Mr.Hydecouldn'tlivewithoutDr.Jekyll,becausetheysharedabody.SowhenDr.Jekyllcommittedsuicide,Mr.Hydedead,too.

  ItistoolateforDr.Jekylltorealizethathavingtwocharactersisnothingtobeashamedof.ButIlearnedalotfromthisnovella.Thereisa"Jekyll"anda"Hyde"ineverybody.Iwillfaceuptomydesiresandtrytostrengthenheartforgoodtodefeatthedevil.Nothingisdifficultintheworldforonewhosetshismindtodoit.
