Thenewwingconsistsofasystemoftiny,strongandlightweightmodules（组件）.Theshapeofthewingcanbechangeduniformlyalongitslengthusingtwosmallmotors,whichapplyatwistingpressuretoeachwingtip.Thesewingsarecoveredin“skins”ofoverlappingstripsofflexiblemateriallikefishscales.Thesestripsmoveacrosseachotherasthewingschangethemselves,providingasmoothoutersurface,theresearchersexplained.
