　　1.IKEAistheworld’slargestfurnitureretailer,andthemanbehinditisIngvarKamprad,oneoftheworld’smostsuccessfulentrepreneurs.BorninSwedenin1926,Kampradwasanaturalbusinessman.Asachild,heenjoyedsellingthingsandmadesmallprofitsfromsellingmatches,seedsandpencilsinhiscommunity.WhenKampradwas17,hisfathergavehimsomemoneyasarewardforhisgoodgrades.Naturallyheusedittostartupabusiness–IKEA.

　　2.IKEA’snamecomesfromKamprads’initials（I.K.）andtheplacewherehegrewup（EandA）.TodayIKEAisknownforitsmodern,minimalistfurniture,butitwasnotafurniturecompanyinthebeginning.Rather,IKEAsoldallkindsofmiscellaneousgoods.Kamprad’swaresincludedanythingthathecouldsellforprofitsatdiscountedprices,includingwatches,pensandstockings.
