1.Introduction

Withthetrendofeconomyglobalization,therelationshipbetweencountriesisbecomingcloserandcloser.Peopleconsideritimportanttoknowothercountries’cultureandmakemoneybymakinguseoftheinformationtheycanacquire.English,beinganinternationallanguage,functionsasthemostpopularandeffectivewayforthepeopleallovertheworldtocommunicatewitheachotherandacquireinformation.Thus,itiswidelyappliedbylotsofmediaintransferringnewsintheworld.Amongvariousmedia,newspaper,oneoftheoldestbuteasilyaccessiblemedia,standsoutfromotherinformativemediaandbecomestheimportantchoiceforpeopletoknowwhathappenedaroundorevensomewherefarawayfromthem.

Englisheconomynews(EEN),asasub-varietyofEnglishnews,whichiscloselyrelatedtopeople’slifeandevenaffectstheirdecisionindailylife,hasgainedmuchattentionfromreadersthanothertypesofnews.Thisfunctionendoweditwithspecificlinguisticfeaturesthatdistinctitfromothernews.

EventhoughwesternmediaarequiteprofessionalizedinEnglisheconomyreports,itsnewsisstillnotobjectiveenoughtoconveyforeignreadersaboutrealChinafordifferentpoliticalbackground(许明武,2003).SoitisnecessaryfortheChinesetotransferChinesenewsintoEnglishversionandshowinternationalreaderswhatrealChinais.Therefore,C-EeconomynewstranslationworkisessentialforproperandobjectivetransitionofChineseimpressiontotheworld.However,thehugedifferencebetweentwolanguageswithdifferentculturesblocksasmoothtransitionofinformation.Consequently,therehasbeenvalueinstudyofthestylisticfeaturesofEnglisheconomynewsandsomemethodsapplicableintherenderingprocess.

Thispaperismainlycomposedoffourparts,includingtheintroduction,thestylisticfeaturesofEnglisheconomynews,C-Etranslationmethodsappliedandtheconclusion.ThefirstpartistheintroductioninwhichtheeffectofthejournalisticEnglishtopeople’slifeandworkispresented.ThesecondparttakesaclosedanalysisonthestylisticfeaturesofEnglisheconomynews.ThethirdpartintroducesthetheoryoftranslationthatappliedinC-Eeconomynewstranslationandtheapplicabletranslationmethods.Thefourthpartistheconclusion.

2.StylisticfeaturesofEnglisheconomynews

Stylisticstudyconcernsthesituationalfeaturesthatinfluencevariationsinlanguageuse,thecriterionfortheclassificationoflanguagevariety,anddescriptionoflinguisticfeaturesandfunctionofthemainvarietiesofalanguage(丁往道,2002).

Inthebook英语文体学论,WangZuolingandDingWangdaopointoutthatthemaindutyofstylisticanalysisshouldfindoutthephonetic,syntactic,lexicalandtextualcharacteristicsofastyle.TheirideasaboutstylisticfeaturesofEnglishnewsreportingarebasedontheanalysisofsomenewssamples.Theypointoutthat“Englishnewsreportingpreferstoemploylongandcomplexsentencesinsyntax,compoundwordsappearfrequentlyinthetextandmostlexicalwordsaresemanticallyobjective”(丁往道,2002:

Asanessentialpartofapieceofnews,titleisusuallyprintedinlargeblacklettersabovethetext,whichmakesitmoreeye-catchingthantherest.Asamatteroffact,atitlecanberegardedasapieceofbriefnewswhichcanofferreadersageneralideaofthenewsandhelpthemtomakeadecisionwhetherthisnewsismeaningfulforthem.Becauseofthelimitedspaceofnewspaperandthesignificanceoftitle,thedictionandgrammaroftitleineconomynewsbearthefollowingcharacteristics:
