OriginallylocatedinthenearbyEnglewoodmeadow,itwasnowmoveditscurrentsitein1978byVelma’slatehusbandandhisbrother,RobertandRichard,whothoughtitwouldhelpkeepVelmabusyinretirement.Nonailshadbeenusedintheoriginalconstruction,soeachpieceofwoodhadtobecarefullymarkedandthebuildingwasreassembled(重装)onitsnewsite.Thebrothersworkedwithmuchcareandhardworktoensureaperfectfitofmitered(斜接的)corners.

Aftertherelocation,Velmaandherfamilyfurnishedtheschoolwithsomeofitsoriginaldesks.Theyalsoaddedacollectionofschoolbooks,theoldestdatingbackto1845.Perhapstheschool’smostcherishedsouveniristhediplomaofstudentHettieEssig,whograduatedonJune30,1904.Hettie’sdaughter,Flora,presentedVelmawiththepreciouskeepsake.
