BigBazaarhasemergedasoneoftheleadingretailchainstoresinIndiaforfood,generalmerchandiseandhomeproducts.ThesuccessmantraforBigBazaarhasbeentoprovidequalityproductsatthecheapestprices.Anditdependsonitsefficientsupplychaintosqueezeoutprofits,whichitfurtherpassesontothecustomers.AlthoughBigBazaardealswithfourdifferentcategoriesofsupplychains–food,fashion,generalmerchandiseandhome,themostcriticalisthefoodsupplychain.BigBazaarbroughtrevolutionarymethodsofprocurementanddistributioninthefoodsupplychain,bydirectlyprocuringfarm-freshproductsfromfarmers,anddistributingthemdirectlytotheretailstores.Italsomaintainsaworld-classcold-chaininfrastructureandhighlyefficientFMCGsupplychain.Thispaperfocusesontheabovematters,andgivesinsightaboutthefoodsupplychainofBigBazaar.Wehavealsotriedtogiveabriefinsightintotheaspectsoffoodsupplychainthatmayariseinthefuture.
