注意：
时态的一致性。
这是一个宾语从句，从thought可以看出来这句话的时态是过去时，所以在从句中的动词（包括be动词）应该也用过去时（was,were）。

“for+时间段”表示持续…时间。

many+可数名词复数；many可以放在任何句型中。
