However,inAsia,foodportionsaregenerallynotextremelylarge.I’mmustencouragedtoeatuntilI’mfullandenjoydifferentkindsoffood.EatingoutinAsiaisoftenabigsocialaffair(社交活动).Peoplehereeatoutalot.Thereareallkindsofrestaurants.Andtherearefoodstandsandfoodcarts-evenonthesidewalk(人行道).
Anotherinterestingaspectofeatingoutisthewayfoodisserved.BackhomeinAmerica,eachdinerorderstheirownmeal.WhenpeopleeatoutinAsia,theyusuallyorderfoodtoshare.NearlyeverytimeIeatoutwithfriendsinChina,eachofushasourownbowlofriceornoodles,andwesharetherestofthedishes.Thisisanexcellentwaytotrynewfoods!
Onethingthatmakesmeconfusedisthewaypeoplepayforfoodatarestaurant.
