为了提高中学生的口语,帮助学生尽快掌握所学语言,使学生能够成功地运用英语进行交际,作为中学英语教师不但是教学过程的组织实施者,而且是优良品德和行为的示范者。

英语作为国际上最流行的一种交际语言,越来越受到人们的重视,我们一定要在平时的教学中加强英语口语教学。

学习语言一定要有良好的语言学习环境,而学习环境是要靠人为地去创造的。

要使学生学习英语的兴趣长盛不衰,就必须为学生创造一种“金口常开”的学习环境。

在教学实践中,经过试验,我们可以采用一些方法激发学生讲英语的兴趣,使学生有更多的机会开口讲英语,口语的流畅有助于语法与写作的提高。

而且在教学中提高中学生口语能力既有利于其自身的发展,同时也有利于加强国际交流,满足社会上对口语交际人才的需求

Studentswouldbeiefntfromhavingsomeoneelsefromtheircountryintheclasswiththem.Therearenotalwaysgoingtobetwostudentsfromthesamecountryandinthesamegradeinordertomakethispossible,butitshouldbekeptinmindiftheopportunitydoesoccur.Anotherpositiveforpairingstudentsisthattheywouldstillbeabletousetheirnativelanguagewhiletheywereatschool.ThiswouldallowthemtoholdontosomeoftheirculturaltieswhiletheywerelearningEnglishsothattheydonotfeelforcedtoleavetheirbeliefsandviewsbehind.Itwouldbereallyhardtocometoanewcountryandnotknowwhatanyonewassayingtoyou.Assomeoftheotherscommented,beinginanewenvironmentisprobablyoverwhelmingfortheELLsandmaycausethemtobecomeshyandnotparticipateinclassatall.Havingsomeoneelsethattheycanconversewithintheirnativelanguagemayhelpeasesomeoftheoverwhelmingaspectsofbeinginanewenvironmentandnotbeingabletoeffectivelycommunicatewithothersintheirclass.

Finally,BasilFawltydoesnothesitatetoexaggeratefacts,makinghisdiscoursetotallyabsurd,unlikely,andhilarious.Heusesexclamationssuchas“splendid”(l.68),“beautiful”(l.64)and“wonderfully”(l.66).BasilinventscompletelytryingtosatisfyMelbury,whodoesnotcareaboutwhatthemanagersaysatall.
