choosingkey-wordstosearchfortolocateerrorthatmayimpact

theircurrentproject.

ErrorDescription

Eacherrorhasaheadingwithasmanyasthreeentries.Thefirst

entryidentifiesthemajorcapabilityaffectedandisalsolistedin

themajorcapabilitiesindex.Thesecondentryidentifieseitherthe

nameofthemoduleinwhichanabnormalexitoccursorthecardtype

affectedifcomputedresultsarenotsatisfactory.（Forabnormal

exits,thelastmodulenamethatappearsinthePerformanceSummary

Tableisusuallythemodulewheretheexitoccurs.）Thethirdentry

givesthesymptomsoftheerror,suchas,theMSC/NASTRANsystemor

usermessagenumberprintedjustpriortoterminationoradescription

ofa"machine-dependenterror".Othersymptomsmightbemissing

outputorwronganswers.Errorreportsareupdatedwhenmorefactsor

betteravoidancetechniquesbecomeknown.

BeginningwithVersion68,MSC/NASTRANhasadoptedaVersionnumbering

systemoftheformXX.YY.ZZ,whereXXisthemajorrelease,YY

indicatesaminorreleasewithfewenhancementsandZZindicateserror

corrections.Notethatmodificationstothecodethatarerequired

sothataspecificmachinerunsthesameaspreviousreleasesonother

machinesareconsiderederrorcorrectionsinthisnumberingscheme.

Thus,theremaynotbeanyreferencesintheerrorlisttoaspecific

releasenumber.
