1.Globalwarming

GlobalwarmingistheincreaseintheaveragetemperatureofEarth‘snear-surfaceairandoceanssincethemid-20thcenturyanditsprojectedcontinuation.Mostoftheobservedtemperatureincreasesincethemiddleofthe20thcenturywascausedbyincreasingconcentrationsofgreenhousegases,whichresultsfromhumanactivitysuchasfossilfuelburninganddeforestation.

Anincreaseinglobaltemperaturewillcausesealevelstoriseandwillchangetheamountandpatternofprecipitation,probablyincludingexpansionofsubtropicaldeserts.WarmingisexpectedtobestrongestintheArcticandwouldbeassociatedwithcontinuingretreatofglaciers,permafrostandseaice.Otherlikelyeffectsincludechangesinthefrequencyandintensityofextremeweatherevents,speciesextinctions,andchangesinagriculturalyields.
