Tolearnaboutwhatkindsofboysdofemalefreshmenpreferandtogiveboyssomeadviceonhowtoimprovetheirself-cultivationthattheywillattractgirlssuccessfully.Moreover,weshouldapplythemethodsofinvestigationandanalysistheresultsofquestionnairesskillfullythroughtheteamtask.
1.3Organizationofthereport
Initially,wewanttodesignameaningfulandstimulatingsurveythuswedecidethistopic.Thenwedoapilotsurveyinordertoexposedefects.Andwedotheformalsurveyeventually.Duringtheperiodofstudy,everyonedesignthequestionsineachpart,TuYitengisinchargeofreceiveanddispatchquestionnaires,andothersareresponsibleforcountingandanalyzingthedata.
2.Researchmethodology
2.1Challengesintheinvestigation
Wehavenotafewchallengesinthequestionnaires.Initially,somepeopledidnotcoordinate;theygaveroughanswerstoourquestions.Moreover,somepeoplecouldnotknowthemeaningofquestionsaccurately;thereforetheycouldnotanswerthequestionnaires.Besides,afewinformantsdidnotgivebackthequestionnairesintime.What’sworse,someofthemevendidnotgivebackatall.
2.2Method
Weresearchitinaregularway.Firstly,weputforwardourtopictoMiss.Wang.Shegaveustheinitialsuggestionsandpointedoutourstupidproblemsandapprovedourtopic.Andthenwemade30questionnairesfor30girls,foratrialmodification.Theygaveusthetwicesuggestions,atthesametime,wediscussedforabetterquestionnaireinourgroup.
2.3Detailsintheprocedure
Takingintoaccounttheimpressionoffemaleonmaleidentificationofuniversalstandards,wewillissuequestionnairesdesignedintothreeaspects:
dress,hobbies,andpersonality.Intheabovethreecategoriesmentioned,wedesignedthreemultiple-choicequestionaboutdressing(questionsabouthairstylearepicturesselection),fourmultiple-choicequestionabouthobbies.Accordingtorelatedmaterialswhichwerecollectedbyinternet,Humanpersonalityingeneralaredividedintofourcategories:
sensibility,logos,gentle,frank.Inaddition,inthesefourcategoriesarebrokendownintomoredetailedcharacteristicsofpersonality.So,weprovidedthesefourcharacteristicstochooseinquestionnaire.Atthesametime,wealsosetupsomepracticeoptionstobechosenbyjoiner.BecauseofthefeatureofChineselanguage,Chinesewordshavecommendatoryandderogatorysense.Inordertoavoidtomisleadparticipators,weonlyofferneuterorcommendatorywordsaboutcharacteristictochoose,Thelastquestionthat“Youcan'tstandtheguymostofthosecharactertraits”issubjectiveitem.Purposeofthisquestionisinthenegativestudyonevaluationstandardofgirlstoboys.Finally,thewholequestionnairewasdesigned12questionscontain11multiple-choicequestionandonesubjectivequestion.Itisworthmentionthateverymultiple-choicequestionincludingtheoptionof“other”.Itallowsparticipatorschoosewhattheyreallywanttochooseandguaranteethecompletiveandobjectiveofdates.
●Thepilotstudy
Beforeofficialsurvey,westartedpilotstudy.wegive30questionnairestointernationalcultureexchangecollegelanguageclassoneandclasstwoinMay3,2012.Then,recycledcompletelyinMay4,2012.Aftertherecycling,weanalyzedallthequestionnairesandcorrectedalotofmistakes.Forexample,inthepilotstudytheoptionsof“other”weremisunderstoodtotheareaoffillingtheanswers.Luckily,throughthepilotstudy,thesequestionswererevisedengrained(PleaserefertoAppendix).Afterthis,wegottheofficialquestionnaire
●Theformalstudy
Afterpilotstudy,wepreparedtobeginofficialstudy,wepickedacampusorganizationthreegorgesuniversityradiostation.Thereasonthatwepickedthisorganizationisunder:
1Theorganizationhasfreshfemalestudentsineverycollegeinwholeuniversityandtheproportionofstudentsisbalance.
2Theorganizationhashugethenumberofpeopleanditisadaptforsurvey.
3Theorganizationshavestrictdisciplineandeverymemberhaveimmovablemeetingtime.Whenwerecyclequestionnairesitguaranteethecoefficientofrecoveryandvalidity.
Inthesumofmentionedabove,wechoosethreegorgesuniversityradiostation.Thedetailofgivingquestionnairesisthatweprinted150questionnairesatfirstandEverytenboundintoasingle.Then,webroughtthesequestionnairestoradiostationandgavetoeveryheadofdepartmentwhentheywereinmeeting.Next;theseheadofdepartmenthandedout150questionnairestotheirunderling.INtheend,werecycled130effectualandtrueresultsinMay17,2012.

●Thepilotsurvey:
(1)Themajorityofparticipantsprefersportswearorcasualclothes,whichreflectstheboywholovessportsorfashionismoreattractive.Thestyleofclothsignifieslifestyle,sogirlslikemorecomfortableandrelaxedlife.Ontheotherhand,formalclothescannotcatchgirls’attentionforthereasontheykeepthemselvesfromsolemnitymadebythat.
(2)Becauseofthefancyofsomecelebrities,mostofthegirlschoosethehairstylessamewiththeirs;simpleshortstraighthair(hairstyleD)isalsopopularcomparedwiththerest,correspondingtotheimageofsports.
(3)Wearingwatchornoneofaccessoryrankthetoptwoplaces,showingtheobvioustrendthatgirlsfocusmoreonwhatinsideofboysinsteadoftheappearance.Additionally,boysdecoratewithringsorearringmaymakegirlswiredandoffensiveinlosingtheimageofrealman.
(4)Asforthesports,playingbasketballorfootballcanenhancetheattractiontogirls.However,runningandswimminggetlowersupportpresumablybecausethelattercannotshowmuchabsorbinggesturewhiletheformerinvolvesaseriesofcoolfantasticaction,whichisthekeytobehot.What’smore,electronicsportsgetsthefewestvotes,becausebeingabsorbedinplayingcomputergameswillleadtobadimpactonhealth,wastingalargenumberoftime,alienatingfriendsandfamilies.
(5)Whenitcomestomusic,classicalmusicandlightmusicmakeupofthemaingroupofthechoices.Similartomostgirls’qualities,theyprefertoslowgentlemusic,andwouldliketheirboyfriendssharethepreference.However,thoughenergeticdancemusicormetalmusiccanvivifyatmosphereandmoodthatleadstonoiseandannoywhichisagainstthewillingofthegirlstobesilent.
(6)Inthefieldofliterature,boyswholovereadingnovelsorlearningmoreabouthistorywillhaveadvantageinattractingthegirls.Asaresult,historywouldprovideusquiteafewexperiencesfromancestorsandwisdomplaysanessentialroleinourselves-developmentsothatgirlsareinfavorofmaturemen.
