BytheendofNovember,thejournalistshadcollectedmorethan200mobilephonesanddonationsofmorethan$35,000.Theyusedthemoneytobuymorephones.TheyalsopaidforInternetuseforthoseneedingit.Currently,nearly300phoneshavebeengiventostudentsinandaroundJakartaaswellastodistantareaslikePapua,thecountry'smosteasternprovince.

HelpingstudentstakepartinonlineschoolingbringshappinesstoGhaliyaandhergroupfriends.“Wereallyhopethemobilephonescanbeusedasmuchastheycanduringthepandemic,"shesaid.

HewastrainedtodetectTNT,thechemicalcompoundwithinexplosives(炸药).Theabilitytosniff(嗅)outTNTmakeshimmuchfasterthananypersoninsearchingforlandmines.

AccordingtoChristopheCox,co—founderandCEOofAPPO,acharitythattrainstherats,thecreaturescanscreenanareaof200squaremetersinhalfanhour."Wereallytrustourrats.Veryoftenafterclearingaminefield,ourteamswillplayagameofsoccerontheclearedfieldtoassurethequalityofourwork.Sofarourtrainershaveneverhadanyaccidentswithratsbecausetheirsizeandweightpermitsthemtowalkacrossminefields.Theyalsoworkmuchfasterthanpeople.
