Healthministersfrom11membercountriesofWorldHealthOrganization（WHO）'sSouth-EastAsiaregionandWHOexpertsforwardedaoutlinetocontrolmeasuretocounterpandemicinfluenzaA/H1N1onWednesday,asthefavorableseasonofwinterforthefluisapproaching.

Thefour-daylongannualmeetingofthehealthministersoftheregion,andthe62ndMeetingofWHORegionalCommitteeforSouth-EastAsiastartedintheNepalicapitalKathmandu{,kætmæn'd}onSept.7.

"WHOcontinuestocloselymonitorthegeographicalspreadofPandemicA/H1N1,memberstateswillneedtocontinueupdatingtheirplansaccordingly,"hesaid,addingthatitisimportanttoallocateappropriateresourcesandmaintaintheoverallpandemicpreparedness.

Thehealthministers'meetingwasfocusedontheimportanceofpublichealthmeasuressuchasfrequenthand-washing,respiratoryhygieneandcoughetiquette,andsocialdistancingmeasuressuchasvoluntaryisolationforslowingdownthesurge,needtobeemphasizedtothepublic.

Themeetingsummarizedthatidentifyingsickstudentsandkeepingthemathomeismorebeneficialthanschoolclosures,ingeneral.However,itemphasizedhealthsystemsandhospitalsinmemberstatesneedtoremainpreparedforasurgeofseverecasesrequiringactivecasemanagementwithantiviralandothersupportivemeasures.

Accordingtotherelease,themanufacturerswillhaveacollectivecapacityofabout220milliondosesannually,withasurgecapacityforanother200milliondosesoveroneyear.However,theregionalofficefurthersaidthatthepandemicfluvaccinemaynotbeavailableintimeforthewintersurge.

Themeetingofhealthministersisaforumtoexchangenationalexperiencesonthesocial,political,andeconomicdimensionsofhealthandhighlightburningissueswhichwillbefollowedbytheWHORegionalCommitteemeeting,whichisWHO'sGoverningCouncilattheregionallevel.

TheoverallincomefromtourisminHunanprovinceisprojectedtoexceed100billionyuan（$14.6billion）thisyear.In2014,itisexpectedtogrowstillfurther,doublingto200billionyuanandaccountingfor14percentoftheprovince'sGDP,accordingtoahigh-rankingofficialintheprovincialtourismindustry.

Inthefirsthalfofthisyear,theprovincewelcomednearly670,000foreigntouristsand70milliondomestictravelers,earning$235millionand44billionyuanrespectively.Thenumberofoveralltouristsincreasedby38.19percentoverthesameperiodlastyear,withincomerisingby34.92percentyear-on-year.

Theprovincialgovernmenthasdesignated2009as"tourismprojectsconstructionyear"andisdeveloping251tourisminitiatives,including20provincial-levelprojects,50city-level,and100county-leveltourismprojects,withanoverallinvestmentof138billionyuan.

"Theseprojectsaimtosignificantlyimprovelocaltourisminfrastructure,scenicsiteandothertourism-relatedindustries,andthusmakeHunananevenmorepopulartouristdestination,"saidYang.

AccordingtoYang,inthefirsthalfofthisyear,323projectsworthmorethanfivemillionyuaneachintermsofinvestment,werecommissioned.

Todate,over90percentofits251projectsareunderconstruction.Amongthem,theJuxizhouscenicarea,representing1.4billionyuanininvestment,isnowopentotouristsforfree.Additionally,theconstructionoftheNo1projectinShaoshan,worthmorethanonebillionyuan,hasbeencompleted.ThefamousZhangjiajieareahasalsobenefitedfromconsiderablerenovationandimprovementsandisnowsettobecomeafirst-classtouristdestination,bothinChinaandaroundtheworld.

Apartfromimprovingthelarge-scaleclass-onescenicsites,theprovincialauthoritieshavealsoupgradedother,lesswell-known,tourismsites,includingthehotspringtowninNingcounty,theancienttownofJinggangandthebarstreetofChangsha.

Yangsaidhisteamisalsoplanningtoestablishaprovincialtourismservicecentertoproviderstillgreaterconveniencefortourists.

Theprovinceisrichintourismresourcesandfeaturesmanybeautifullandscapes,culturalsites,andthehomesofhistoricalfigures.Forinstance,theWulingyuanareainZhangjiajiehasbeenlistedamongtheWorldNaturalHeritageofUnitedNations,whilsttheYueyangTower,Yuelucollege,andMaWangduiancienttomb,builtduringthetimeoftheHandynasty（206BC-AD24）,arewidelyacclaimedashistoricalsiteswithagreatinfluenceonChinesetraditionalculture.

Inaddition,theprovincewasoncehometomanyfamoushistoricalfigures,includingZengGuofanandZuoZongtang,famousgeneralsinthelateQingdynasty（1644-1911）,HuangXingandCaiE,renownedreformersandgeneralsintheearly20thcentury,andMaoZedongandLiuShaoqi,thefamousfoundersofNewChina.
