Icouldreadabit,butnotthatwell,andnotwellenoughtoreadsilentlyinmyhead.Anyway,onenight,aftermyparentshadclosedthebookandleftmealone,Icarriedonreadingallbymyself.Ihadtoreadoutloud,andthestorywassosadIwassobbingasIread,whichmadeitevenharderformetogetthewordsoutandfinishthestory.Evenso,Icarriedonreadingrighttotheendandfortunatelythestorydidendhappily!
Icanstillrememberthis,eventhoughImusthaveonlybeenaboutfouryearsoldatthetime.Myparentsremembertheepisodetoo.Theycouldhearmeinmyroomreadingaloudandcrying,andtheysaiditwasheart-rendingtolistento,butalsoquiteimpressive,asIwassostubbornlydeterminedtodothis,andonmyown.
