Somethingelse,however,hasbeenontherise,WhileGMseedsareexpensive,GMcompaniestellfarmersthattheywillmakegoodprofitsbysavingmoneyonpesticides(杀虫剂).Onthecontrary,USgovernmentdatashowthatGMcropsintheUShaveproducedanoverallincreaseinpesticideusecomparedtotraditionalcrops.“The promisewasthatyoucoulduselesschemicalsand boost production.Butneitheristrue,”saidBillChristison,PresidentoftheUSNationalFarmCoalition.
