populationsalsogrewquickly.Thecoyoteskilledalargepercentageofthepark’sredfoxes,and
completelydroveawaythepark’sbeavers.
Asearlyas1966,biologistsaskedthegovernmenttoconsiderreintroducingwolvesto
YellowstonePark.Theyhopedthatwolveswouldbeabletocontroltheelkandcoyote
problems.Manyfarmersopposedtheplanbecausetheyfearedthatwolveswouldkilltheirfarm
