尼罗河畔，发现7000年的埃及文明

尼罗河，发源于赤道南部东非高原上的布隆迪高地，在埃及境内长度为1530公里，两岸形成3至16公里宽的河谷，到开罗后分成两条支流，注入地中海。

这两条支流冲积形成2.4万平方公里的尼罗河三角洲，是埃及人口最稠密、最富饶的地区，人口占全国总数的96％，可耕地占全国耕地面积的三分之二。
