简介

这是一条又冷又暗的道路，雨一刻也没有停止。
但是在城堡路12号的一间客厅里却舒适而温暖。
老怀特先生和他的儿子赫伯特正在下棋，怀特夫人坐着看。
老妇人很愉快，因为丈夫和儿子关系友好（是好朋友）并且喜欢在一起。
赫伯特是个好儿子，她想。
“他让我们等了很长时间，我将近40岁才生下他，但是我们的家庭很幸福，”老怀特夫人微笑了。
