In1826,aFrenchmannamedNiepceneededpicturesforhisbusiness.Buthewasnotagoodarties.Soheinventedaverysimplecamera（照相机）.Heputitinawindowofhishouseandtookapictureofhisgarden.Thatwasthefirstphoto.

Thenextimportantdateinthehistoryofphotography（摄影术）wasin1837.Thatyear,Daguere,anotherFrenchman,tookapictureofhisreadingroom.Heusedanewkindofcamerainadifferentway.Inhispictureyoucouldseeeverythingveryclearly,eventhesmallestthing.ThiskindofphotowascalledaDaguerreotype.

Soon,otherpeoplebegantouseDaguerre’sway.Travelersbroughtbackwonderfulphotosfromallaroundtheworld.peopletookpictureoffamousbuildings,citiesandmountains.
