Anetworktomonitorandtrackfood-bornediseasescausedbypathogenicmicroorganismswillbesetup,aseniorfoodsafetyexpertsaid.

Theseorganisms,usuallyabacteriaorvirus,aremicroscopicandcancauseseriousillnesses,diarrheaand,inextremecases,evendeath.Theythriveinunhygienicconditionsandcanbeveryresistant.

YanWeixing,secretary-generalofthesafetycommitteeundertheChinaFoodSafetyRiskAssessmentCenter,toldChinaDailythatmanycaseswerenotevenreported.

"Thosecasesthathavebeenreportedareonlythetipoftheicebergandthenetworkwillhelpdetect,track,andissuealerts,"hesaid.

Yanestimatesthatlessthan5percentofcasesarereported.

Thenetwork,ChinaFoodNet,willconnectsupermarkets,foodmarkets,restaurantsandhospitals.

Assoonasacaseisreported,thenetworkwilltrackthesupplychainandfindoutwherethefoodoriginatedfromandwhereitmayhavebeencontaminated.

"Itcanalsoissuealertsonfoodsafetyforthepublic,"hesaid.

Chinaalreadyhasanationalmonitoringsystemwithmorethan300sitesthroughoutthemainland.

Thesystemwaslaunchedin2010andmainlyhandlesdatafortestingfoodsafety,Yansaid.

Itcanhelpdetectmajorcontaminants,whichmightvaryregionally,andbettertargetgovernmenteffortstoensurefoodsafety,hesaid.

Therehavebeenreportsinthemediaofincidentsinvolvingunsafefoodbutimprovementshavebeenmade,Yansaid.

"ThegeneralfoodsafetysituationinChinaisgettingbetter.Wetestsamplesoffoodeachyearandmostareuptostandardandcasesoffoodpoisoningareveryrare,"hesaid.

Chemicalcontaminationisalsoamajorrisktofoodsafety,hesaid.

"Thesecasesarewellpublicized,"hesaid.Butscandalssuchasmelamine-contaminatedmilkpowder,areinadifferentcategorythanfoodcontaminatedbybacteriaorviruses.

Atleastsixbabiesdiedafterconsumingtaintedformulain2008andhundredsweresenttohospital.

"Thisisadulterationanditisaseriouscrime,"hesaid.

Todate,nearlyallofthesevereorlethalfood-relatedcasesreportedwereinthiscategory,headded.

Healsoconfirmedthattestingmethodsforgutteroilarebeingassessedandresultswillbeissuedintwomonths.Gutteroilisthegenerictermforcookingoilthathasbeenusedandthenresold.

StartingfromDecember,theMinistryofHealthandtheChinaFoodSafetyRiskAssessmentCenterbegantotestmethodstodetectgutteroil.

Theprocessinseparatingvariouscomponentsoftheoilisdifficultbutprogresshasbeenmade,hesaid.

ThereisanoticeablegapbetweentheactualnumberofmicroblogsubscribersandthenumberofmicroblogIDs,Liusaid.ManysubscribershavemorethanoneIDandusedummyIDstoincreasethenumberofmicroblogfollowersortospreadrumors.

TongGuohua,54,anNPCdeputyandaresearcherfromWuhanResearchInstituteofPostsandTelecommunications,saidtheInternetasapubliccommunicationplatformposedriskstonetizens'privacy.

Hismotiondeclaresthatincyberspacewherethereisnoreal-namesystem,anyonecanrevealanother'sprivatedetailsorslanderthem,anditisdifficulttotracethesource.

"Thedubiouscredibilityofonlinenewshasresultedinalossoftrust.Therefore,identityauthenticationisaglobalandnecessarytrend,"Guosaid.HeexplainedthattheUS-basedsocialnetworkcompanyFacebookimplementedreal-nameregistrationalongtimeago.

"Apersonshouldtakeresponsibilityforhisorherbehavior,evenontheInternet.Weneedatrustworthyenvironment,"saidYangYuanqing,aCPPCCmemberandpresidentofChina'slargestPCmaker,LenovoGroup.

"Butevenifanetizenuseshisorherrealname,problemsstillexist,"Tongsaid.

Tongsuggeststhattobetterprotectnetizens'privacy,moreeffectivelegalprotectionandstrictermonitoringarenecessary.

Infuture,onlineinformationwillnotjustbemicroblogidentificationbutalsootherpersonalinformation,suchassocialsecuritydata,taxstatusandmedicalcondition,saidXuXiaolan,headofBeijingCCIDInformationTechnologyTesting,asubsidiaryoftheMinistryofIndustryandInformationTechnology.

Shecalledforthegovernmenttointroducelegislationthatwouldsafeguardthesharinganduseofthisconfidentialpersonalinformation.

XuandGuosaidthatChinaineffectneededtobuildanationwide"e-platform"tomanageandregulatethegatheringanddisseminationofpersonalinformation.

GaoChiyang,executivepresidentofBeijingCCID,saidthataccordingtothecompany'slatestresearch,theonlinesecuritysituationregardingpersonalinformationat105popularChinesewebsiteswas"notlookinggood",andonmobiledeviceswas"veryserious".

Employmentchallengesaregrowingduetoanunbalancedjobmarketandalargenumberofpeopleseekingwork,atoplaborofficialsaidonWednesday.

"Citiesandtownswillsee25millionmorepeoplejointheworkforcethisyear,overhalfofwhomwillbeuniversityandcollegegraduates,whileanother9to10millionwillbesurplusrurallaborers,"YinWeimin,ministerofhumanresourcesandsocialsecurity,saidatanewsconference.

Graduatesarefindingitdifficulttogetjobsandmanyenterprisesarefacingproblemsinrecruitingworkersandtechnicians,revealingstructuralproblemsintheworkmarket,hesaid.

Chinaaimstocreatemorethan9millionjobsthisyearandkeeptheregisteredunemploymentratebelow4.6percent,accordingtothegovernment'sworkreportreleasedonMonday.

Someanalystsbelievethatslowingeconomicgrowthwillseeenterprisesreducetheirintakeofnewworkers,exacerbatingtheemploymentsituation.

ChinaisaimingforGDPgrowthof7.5percentthisyear,muchlowerthan2011's9.2percent.

LingLanfang,chairmanoftheHuzhou-basedSilkRoadHoldingsCoLtd,saidhisfirmhasnotnoticedlaborshortagesthisyear.

"Therecentclosureofmanysmallandmedium-sizedcompaniesintheYangtzeRiverDeltaregionhasalreadyprovidedagoodsupplyoflaborforbiggercompanieslikeus,"hesaid.

AquarterlyreportreleasedbyHudson,aleadinghumanresourcescompany,inJanuaryfoundthat66percentofthe650corporateofficialssurveyedexpressedawillingnesstohiremoreworkersinthefirstquarterthisyear.Thisrepresenteda6percentage-pointslumpfromlastyear.

"Weprovidepsychologicalguidanceforstudentswhoarenotconfidentinfindingajobandwealsosubsidizestudentsfrompoorfamiliesiftheytraveltoothercitiesforinterviews.Wealsoinviteenterprisestoourschooltoprovideadvicetograduates,"hesaid.

ButLiuXin,ahumanresourcesprofessoratRenminUniversityofChina,saidslowergrowthmightbegoodforemploymentforbothworkersandgraduates.

China'srapidgrowthwaslargelydrivenbymassiveinvestmentinareassuchasrailwaysandconstructionandthismainlybenefitedState-ownedcompanies,whichabsorbfewerworkersthansmallandmedium-sizedenterprises,hesaid.

"AlowerGDPexpectationmightmeanthatthegovernmentwillmakegreatereffortstohelpsmallerenterprisessurviveandprosper,"saidLiu.

YinWeiminsaidthegovernmentwouldintroduceapackageofmeasures,suchasmoretrainingandmoreefficientpublicservices,tohelpexpandthejobmarket.

Tohelpwiththeemploymentofgraduates,Yinsaidthatthegovernmentwillencouragethemtofindgrassroots-leveljobsincentralandwesternregionsandwouldencouragegraduatestostarttheirownbusinesses.
