    However,man'schangestothephysicalenvironmenthavenotalwayshadbeneficialresults.Today,pollutionoftheairandwaterisanincreasingdangertothehealthoftheplanet.Eachdaythousandsoftonsofgasescomeoutoftheexhaustsofmotorvehicles.Smokefromfactoriespollutestheairofindustrializedareasandthesurroundingareasofthecountryside.Thepollutionofwaterisequallyharmful.Thewholeecologicalbalanceoftheseaisbeingchangedandindustrialwasteshavealreadymademanyriverslifeless.

    Nowenvironmentalprotectionismorepressingthaneverbefore.Asweknow,massivedestructionofenvironmenthasbroughtaboutnegativeeffectsandevenposesagreatthreattoman'sexistence.Indifferencetotheseproblemswillmeancommittingsuicide.Therefore,effectivemeasuresshouldbetakenandlawspassedtoconserveenvironment.Otherwise,maniscertaintosufferfromtheseriousconsequencescausedbythislackofcareforhislivingsurroundings.

     Nowadays more andmorepeopleareconcernedabouttheirhealth.Buthow to keep

healthy?

Differentpeoplemaygivedifferentanswerstothisquestion.Inmyopinion,itisessentialtodothefollowing.

     First,itisabsolutelynecessarytotakesomeexerciseeveryday.Researchshowsthatgettingplentyofexercisemaketheheartbeatfasterandthelungsworkharder.Thisstrengthenstheheart,reducesthechanceofheartattack,andhelpslowerbloodpressure.That'swhymoreandmorepeoplearebecomingactiveinvariouskindsofsportsandexercises.Everymorningmanypeoplegetupearlyandtakemuchexercise.Somepracticeshadowboxingandswordplaywhileothersrun,jog,walkordancetomusic.Intheafternoon,therearealsomanypeoplekeenonsports.Someplaybasketballorvolleyballortabletennis,othersgoinforgymnasticsortrackevents.Throughsportsandexercise,peoplebecomehealthierandstronger.

    Medicalresearchershaveprovedthatwhatpeopleeataffectstheirhealth.Theyadvisepeopletoeatmorefruitandvegetablesandlessmeatsuchasbeefandporkbecausemeatcontainsmorefatthanpoultryandfish.Fatcanbuildupinthearteries,blocktheflowofblood,andcauseaheartattackorstroke.

    Gettingridofbadhabitslikesmokinganddrinkingalcoholisalsoanimportantwaytokeephealthy.Smokinganddrinkingalcoholinjureone'shealthagreatdeal,andthereforeshouldbegivenup.Unfortunatelyfewpeoplefollowthisadvice.

    Ifpeoplefollowthesethreewaysofkeepingfit,theygreatlyimprovetheirhealth.

 TheWorld'sPopulation

      Thefirstfiftyyearsofthenextmillenniumwillbecriticalfortheworld'spopulation. By 2050 populationgrowthshouldhaveleveledoff,butbythenwe'llhave10billionpeople--two-thirdsasmanyagainaswehavetoday.Therateofpopulationgrowthissomethingwecanchooserightnow,though:

it'snotsomethingthatjusthappens,butamatterofhumanchoice.Thechoiceisacomplicatedone,withmanyvariables,butitremainsachoice.

     Ifwewanttopreventapopulationexplosion,weshouldtakeactionnow-orassistthepoorercountriestodoso.Theyneedbettergovernment,betterinstitutions,betterlaborandcapitalmarkets,betterschools.

     Anythingthatincreasesthevalueofwomen'stimeandaddstothecostofcaringforachildmakesawomanlesslikelytohavethatchild.Sincebigfamiliesareoftenseenassafetynetsforillnessandoldage,improvingpoorpeople'saccesstoinsurance,pensionsandwelfareinstitutionsalsohasamajorimpact.Thiscanbeassimpleasruralcredit,providingameansofsaving.Finally,thereiseducation--bothforwomenand,perhapsevenmoreimportant,forthenextgenerationofchildren.

    Thesestepsaretheretobetaken,butthereappeartobesomecountriesthatarenotseriouslytryingatthemoment.Ifwecannotachievethatwewillcertainlynotcontrolpopulation.

    Thatsaid,Idon'tfeelpessimisticthatwearegoingtorunoutofresources:

wearebecomingmoreefficientatproducingfoodfasterthantherateatwhichpopulationisincreasing.Thereis,however,ariskthatwewillwrecktheenvironmentsoeffectivelythattheworldwillnolongerbeanattractiveplacetolive.Thatreallywouldbeadismaloutcome,toreachworldpopulationequilibriumonlytofindwe'ddestroyedthenaturalenvironmentintheprocess.

First,thedevelopmentofcomputerchangesourlife.Decadesago,peopleneededtodolotsofcomplexcalculationonhandbecausetheydidnothavecomputer,andmoreobvious,theydidnothavethesoftwareforcalculation.Astheresultofthat,peoplespenthoursontheequationsthatacomputercansolveinjustaminute.Sincethedevelopmentofcomputer,peopleareabletousesomekindofsoftwaretocomputelotsofcomplexfunctionsandmathematicalcalculation.Computerbecomesthemosthelpfulequipmentforthesciencistsbecausetheycanusetheirtimemoreefficiently.

Also,internetisanotherusefultoolforustoday.Thedevelopmentofinternetbringsagreatimpacttowardthesociety.Insteadofgoingtolibraryandflipingallthebookstofigureoutsomeinformation,wecanjustsimplyuseamouseandclickonthewebsitetodoresearch.Theinternetleadsustoaplacewherewecanfindunlimitedinformationandresources.Itmakesourlifemucheasierandbetter.

Thelasttechnologyiscellphone.Nowadays,manypeoplehaveacellphone.Butitjustappearsonthemarketforabout10years.Itisveryconveniencetotheusersbecausewecantalktoanyonewewantwithaphoneassmallasawallet.Also,wecancommunicatewithothersbymakingaphonecallinsteadofsendingletters.Itisveryfastandusefulwaytocommunicate.

Inconclusion,Ibelievethedevelopmentoftechnologybringssignificantimpacttoourlife.ItisveryhelpfultousandIbelievetechnologywillkeepimprovinginfuture.
