一、课程性质与任务
（一）课程的性质
《财经英语》是一门共公共选修课。
本课程将英语学习与财经行业职场活动相结合，在加强英语语言基础知识和基本技能训练的同时，注意培养学生在职场环境下实际使用英语进行交际的能力。
（二）课程的任务
通过“财经英语”的学习，学生应能掌握一定的英语语言基础知识和基本技能，具有一定的阅读能力和初步的听、说、写的能力；同时了解一些财经方面的基本知识，熟悉一些常用术语，并能借助词典阅读简单的财经类资料，在涉及财经行业的职场活动中能进行简单的书面及口头交流，为今后进一步提高在财经行业职场活动中的英语应用能力打下基础。
二、课程的教学目标
“财经英语”旨在加强学生的英语语言基础知识和基本技能的训练，同时使学生接触并了解一些财经方面的基本知识，培养学生在财经行业职场活动中实际使用英语进行交际的能力。
通过介绍财经方面的各种知识、术语和各种不同的表达方法，使学生在提高英语知识水平的同时，熟练掌握财经方面的常用的英语基本术语及表达技能，培养和提高学生的综合能力。
本课程通过将财经英语基础词汇，相关财经知识及听说技能的培训置于财经内容之中，使学生掌握财经英语的实用技能，提高财经类英语阅读和写作能力，为学生使用英语从事财经工作打下基础。

（二）教学基本要求
本课程的基本要求为：
能够适当运用基础的语法知识；能够听懂发音清楚、语速适中的的简短短文和对话；能用英语在财经工作环境汇总进行基本的日常交谈；能够读懂所学词汇和语法范围内的短文、图表与信函等；能够写出简短的私人信函、填写个人简历等具体信息；了解财经行业的一些基本知识，并熟悉一些常用术语的英语表达法；能够翻译与财经行业有关的简单信息和图表。

第四部分课程考核
本课程的考核包括形成性考核与终结性考试两个部分：
形成性考核是对学生学习过程和阶段性学习效果的综合评价，包括学生参与各项教学活动、自主学习活动的情况以及阶段性的学习进展情况。
终结性考试是在课程结束后对学生的学习效果进行的综合评价。
