TelevisionhasbroughtaboutmajorchangesinseveralpartsofAmericansociety,includingpolitics,motionpicturesandradio,andsports.

Politics.Everyelectionyear,thousandsofpoliticalcandidatesusetelevisionintheircampaigns.Theybuycommercialtimetourgevoterstosupportthem.Theyalsoappearindebateswithothercandidatesandanswerinterviewers’questionsabouttheirviews.

Televisionplaysitsgreatestroleinpresidentialraces.BeforeTV,presidentialcandidatestriedtomakepersonalappearancesandspeechesinasmanycitiesandstatesaspossible.Today,manycandidatesreachmorevotersthroughasingletelevisionappearancethanthroughallthein-personcampaigningtheydo.
