Youwillhavetoimproveyourownprofessionalcompetenceinlanguageproficiency,cross-culturalcompetence,pedagogicalcompetence,andtheadoptionofnewlearningstrategiesinyourmethods.Aswellasthatyouwillhavetochangetheteacher'

srolefromthatofknowledge-distributortofacilitator,organiser,participantandadvisor,'

usingthetextbookratherthanteachingthetextbook.'

Theimplementationofthenewcurriculumneedscontributionsfrom,andco-operationamong,manygroupsofpeopleincluding:

teachers,teachertrainers,educationaladministrators,educationalresearchers,community,parentsandemployers.

Theaimsoflearningaforeignlanguagearenottobelimitedtomasteryofknowledgeandskillsintheforeignlanguage.LikeotherschoolsubjectssuchasMaths,Music,ArtandPhysicalEducation,foreignlanguagesarepartoftheoveralldevelopmentofallstudents.Throughlearningaforeignlanguage,studentscanenrichtheirexperienceoflife,broadentheirworldvision,andenhancetheirthinkingskills.Languagelearningismosteffectivewhenstudents'
