Thisjournalisaninternationalmediumforthepublicationoforiginalresearchreportsandauthoritativereviewsonpharmaceuticalandbiomedicalanalysis.Itcoverstheinterdisciplinaryaspectsofanalysisinthepharmaceuticalandbiomedicalsciences,includingrelevantdevelopmentsinanalyticalmethodology,instrumentation,computationandinterpretation.Submissionsonnovelapplicationsfocussingondrugpurityandstabilitystudies,pharmacokinetics,therapeuticmonitoring,metabolicprofiling;
drug-relatedaspectsofanalyticalbiochemistryandforensictoxicology;
qualityassuranceinthepharmaceuticalindustryarewelcome.
SinceclassicalUV-VISmethods(includingderivativespectrophotometricandmulti-wavelengthmeasurements),solventextraction,basicelectroanalyticalmethods,titrimetry,etc.arewellestablished,studiesinsuchareasareacceptedforpublicationinexceptionalcasesonly,ifauniqueandsubstantialadvantageoverpresentlyknownsystemsisdemonstrated.Studiesreportedshouldbesupportedbyademonstrationoftheapplicationofthemethodtorealsamples.Nopapersdealingwiththedeterminationofdrugsinbiologicalsamplesbasedmerelyonspikedsamplesareacceptable.Indeterminingthesuitabilityofsubmittedarticlesforpublication,particularscrutinywillbeplacedonthedegreeofnoveltyandsignificanceoftheresearchandtheextenttowhichitaddstoexistingknowledgeinpharmaceuticalandbiomedicalanalysis.Inallsubmissionstothejournal,authorsmustaddressthequestionofhowtheirproposedmethodologycompareswithpreviouslyreportedmethods.Asubstantialbodyofworkcannotbefractionatedintodifferentshorterpapers.
