Yetwhatwediscoveredlaterwereallthegiftsthatcameoutofsharingdifficulties.Wecametolearnthatsomethingwonderfulcouldhappeninadisaster.AllovertheworldpeoplecaredforChrissomuchthatlettersandpostcardspouredineveryday.BytheendofthethirdweekinamedicalcenterinVirginia,about35,000piecesofmailhadbeenreceivedandsorted.

Asafamily,weopenedletterafterletter.Theygaveuscomfortandbecameasourceofstrengthforus.Weusedthemtoencourageourselves.Iwouldgotothepileoflettersmarkedwith"Funny"ifweneededalaugh,ortothe"Disabled"boxtofindadvicefrompeopleinwheelchairsoreveninbedlivinghappilyandsuccessfully.

Theseletters,werealized,hadtobeshared.Andsohereweofferoneofthemtoyou.

灾难中的美好

1995年5月27日，我们的生活突然发生了变化。
