Acopyofthishandbookisgiventoeachnewassociateoncommencementofemployment.ThisAssociateHandbookcontainsthemainconditionsofhotelrules,policiesandbenefits.Itshouldbestudiedcarefully.Thishandbookdoesnotrepresentacontractofemploymentanditscontentscanberevisedatthediscretionofthehotel’sManagementwithoutpriornotification.

Whenyouhavequestionsaboutyourresponsibilitiesorbenefits,consultthetableofcontentsofthisbook.Ifyoudonotfindalltheinformationyouneed,contactyourDepartmentHeadortheHumanResourcesDepartment.Alsorememberto“scan”thebulletinboards,allhotelinformationispostedonthemkeepyouuptodateandreadyforwork.

SECTION2CONDITIONSOFEMPLOYMENT

1.Employment

SheratonZhoushanHotelisanequalopportunityemployer.Newassociatesarerecruitedmainlythroughadvertisements,publicemploymentandschools.Uponagreementofemployment,acontractwhichhasbeenregisteredwiththeLaborBureauwillbesignedbybothpartieswhichpossesseslegaleffectandwillbeinvaliduponitsexpiration

2.MedicalExamination

AllassociatesarerequiredtoprovidetheHumanResourcesDepartmentwithamedicalcertificateasprescribedintheemploymentproceduresofthehotel.Annualmedicalcheck-upwillalsobearrangedforallassociates.Shouldinfectiousdiseasebediscovered,theassociatewillbetransferredtoasuitableposition,advisedtotakesickleaveorbeterminated.Thehotelreservestherighttorequestassociatestotakefurthermedicalexaminations.

Hotelwillsetupthepersonnelfileforallassociates.AllassociatesarerequiredtosubmitrelevantmaterialstotheHumanResourcesDepartmentatcommencement.

Provisionoffalseinformation,includingomissionoffactswillbeliableforpunishingorinstantdismissal.

AnysubsequentchangesinyourpersonnelparticularsmustbecommunicatedtotheHumanResourcesDepartmentwithinaperiodof7days.Failuretoreportupdatedpersonalinformationmayresultindisqualificationfromreceivingbenefitsthatotherwisemayhavebeenavailable.

4.1Associatesarerequiredtoserveaprobationaryperiodofthree(3)monthsfromthedateofhire.Probationcouldbeextendedtoanotherthreemonthsshouldtheperformanceofthecandidatenotbesatisfactory,butcannotexceedsix(6)months.

4.2Duringtheprobationperiod,associatemustgiventhree(3)daysnoticeinwriting,orpaymentinlieuofnotice.Intheeventofdismissal,thisproceduredoesnotapply.

4.3Shouldassociatesbetransferred/promoted/movedtoanotherdepartment,athree(3)calendarmonthprobation(thelongestis6months)requirementisapplicabletothenewpost.Iffoundnotsuitableforthenewposition,associatesmaybetransferredbacktooriginaldepartmenttoassignedtoanotherdepartmentatthediscretionoftheManagement.

5.1AsperLaborBureauregulation,thecompanyshouldsignacontractwithallassociatesandthecontractshouldbeamutualagreementbetweentheassociateandthecompany.Therefore,associatesarerequiredtoreadthecontractcarefullybeforetheysign.

5.2EmploymentContractmaybereneweduponexpiration,whichissubjecttothemutualconsensusbetweenassociateandtheManagementoftheHotel.
