Abstract:
F.ScottFitzgerald,iswidelyconsideredastheliteraryspokesmanofthe“AmericanDream”.Hisnovelsincludemanyaspectsofhisuniqueexperiencesinthatperiodoftime.Itisnoteasytodistinguishbetweenhisnovelandreallife,whichhasbeeninvolvedinhisbodyandspiritinit.Especiallyinhismasterpiece,thegreatGatsby,whichwaspublishedin1925.Inthenovel,theherorevealsthetypicalexamplesofthosewhoaspiretopursuetheAmericandream,butattheendoftheirownsacrifice.Althoughhedreamsofmaterialwealthandlovethroughhiscourageandhardwork,allthefactorsfromtheoutsideworldandhisdreamofindelibleleadstoitsdisillusionment.Thecharacteristicsofthedevelopmentandheroesofthestory,FitzgeraldelaboratedthedisillusionmentofAmericandreamvividpicture.

著名作家菲兹杰拉德被誉为“美国梦的代言人”,每次当我们阅读他的小说,都会使人产生一种错觉,难以区分现实与小说情节,小说的内容是他真实生活的写照,现实与小说完全融为一体。
在《了不起的盖茨比》中,主人公盖茨为美国梦不懈奋斗,甚至不惜以牺牲自己为代价,始终渴望通过自己坚定的信念获得自己想要的物质和爱情生活,但这只是一场梦,脱离了现实的一场梦境,最终是无法实现的,文章中以时间的发展为主线,对不同人物的性格进行分析,最终阐述了这一梦想破灭的多种原因。
