（2）.SpecificCriteria

1．ScholarshipsforShort-termStudy

Durationforthesescholarshipsisgenerallydividedinto1semesterand1academicyear.ApplicantsarerequiredtohaveabasicknowledgeChineselanguagelevel,andundertheageof55.

2.ScholarshipsforDegrees

AllscholarshipsapplicantsfordegreesarerequiredtohaveattendedHSKandacquiredLevel3orhighercertificate. 

Bachelor’sDegreeScholarship：

4-5academicyears.ApplicantsarerequiredtohaveadiplomacomparabletoaChinesehighschoolcertificate,passtheChineseuniversityadmissionexaminationorbeadmittedbyrecommendationandwithouttakinganadmissionexam,andundertheageof35.

Master’sDegreeScholarship:

2-3academicyears.Applicantsarerequiredtohaveabachelordegreeoradiplomacomparabletoabachelordegree,andundertheageof45.

DoctorateDegreeScholarship:

3-4academicyears.Applicantsarerequiredtohaveamaster’sdegreeoradiplomacomparabletoamasterdegree,andundertheageof45.

Ⅲ.DetailsoftheScholarships

1.Exemptfromregistrationfee,tuitionfee,feesforbasiclearningmaterialsandaccommodationoncampus

2.Monthlyallowanceareatthefollowingrates（CNYYuanpermonth）

4.ComprehensiveMedicalInsuranceandBenefitPlanforInternationalStudentsinChinaisprovidedbyConfuciusInstituteHeadquartersforthescholarshipstudents,incaseofhospitalizationforseriousdiseasesandaccidentalinjuries.

ApplicantsstudentsarerequiredtosubmittheirapplicationMaterialsdirectlytoInternationalStudentAdmissionOffice,SchoolofInternationalProgramsInternationalofKUST.ApplicantscanchoosestudyareafromallprogramslistedonwebsiteofKUST.

ApplicantsmustsubmitthefollowingrequiredapplicationmaterialstoKUST:

2.APhotocopyofthepassportpagewithyourphotoonit;

3.Personalstatements,indicatingtheapplicant’sChineselearningbackground,studyplanandgoalsinChina,etc.Thestatementshouldbenolessthan200words,printedineitherChineseorEnglishandsignedbytheapplicant.Detailresearchandstudyplan（additionalpapercanbeattached）arerequiredforstudentsapplyingfor 

master’sordoctoratedegree；

4.CertificatesofChineseProficiency,couldbeChineseProficiencyCertificatesandtranscripts,orothercertificatesofChineselanguagelearningand/oreducation;

5.Diplomaandtranscripts（issueddirectlybytheeducationaladministrationofficeoftheschool/university,andwithaschoolcache）；

Applicantsforundergraduatestudiesarerequiredtoprovidenotarizedcopyofseniorhighschooltranscripts.DocumentsinlanguageotherthanChineseorEnglishmustbeattachedwithnotarizedtranslationsinChineseorEnglish;

ApplicantsforMaster’sorDoctorateDegreearerequiredtosubmittwolettersofrecommendationinChineseorEnglishbyprofessorsorassociatedprofessors;

6.Applicationsundertheageof18shouldsubmitlettersofapprovalandprovideemergentcontactoftheirlegalguardians;

7.PhotocopyofForeignerPhysicalExaminationForm（printedbyChinesequarantineauthorityandonlyforthosewhoseperiodofstudiesinChinalastsuptosixmonths）filledinEnglish.Incompleterecordsorthosewithoutthesignatureoftheattendingphysician,theofficialstampofthehospitalorasealedphotographoftheapplicantareinvalid.

8.Thenominated“OutstandingInternationalStudent”applicantsarerequiredtosubmitawrittenstatementtodeclarethattheyarevoluntarilytobeengagedinrelatedworkswithChineseinternationaleducationaftertheyaccomplishtheirstudy.

9．ApplicantsformasterordoctoraldegreestudiesneedtofillApplicationFormforMasterorDoctoralDegreeforInternationalStudentsofKUST,filledinChineseorinEnglish.ItcanbedownloadedfromthewebsiteofKUST:

TheabovementionedapplicationmaterialsmustbedeliveredtoSchoolofInternationalProgramsInternationalStudentAdmissionOfficeofKUSTbeforeJune10,2009.Allapplicants’materialswillnotbereturnedregardlessoftheresult.

Ⅵ.Enrollment

1.AllapplicationmaterialswillbecheckedandappraisedbyKUST,andKUSThastherighttoadjustthestudyareaandstudyperiodchosenbyapplicants.AfterthatKUSTwillsubmitthequalifiedapplicationmaterialstotheheadquartersofConfuciusInstituteforfinalapproval.Unqualifiedeligibilityandapplicationmaterialswillnotbeaccepted.

2.ApplicantswhoareacceptedbyKUSTwillawarded“ConfuciusInstituteScholarship”afterthefinalapprovalbytheheadquartersofConfuciusInstitute.

3.TheheadquartersofConfuciusInstitutewillinformKUSTthefinalscholarshipenrollmentresultbeforetheendofJune2009,andthenKUSTwilltransfertherelevantdocumentstotheapplicants.

Ⅶ.Registration

StudentswhoareawardedthescholarshiparerequiredtoregisterinKUSTwithinthespecifieddeadline.Theprivilegeofthescholarshipwouldbecanceled,ifonecouldnotregisterintime.
